I click on three blending tutorials and get the Greek artists, who spends too much time in the opening and cannot understand. Just get to the point and work slowly. The problem with non-real teachers is they don't know how to teach. They just know how to do things, it's easy for them, and they rush along. This is MOST ever tutorial maker on YT!

@danmurphy9056 Hello Dan. Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate your feedback. It means a lot to me that you took the time to voice your concerns with this tutorial. I completely understand that you're dissatisfied with the opening intro being too long and the process feeling too fast or rushed. I completely agree with you that a long intro can truly get annoying sometimes when someone is in urgent search for a solution. And I apologize that this video couldn't meet your expectations. To make your experience a bit better, I'd like to suggest you to click on Chapters to skip to any particular segment in the video. All the key parts of the video are separated into several chapters with appropriate titles and time signature. By using the chapters, you can instantly skip the intro and get straight to the process. Of course, there's a chance that you might already know this. If not, I sincerely hope this helps. The intro sometimes helps the viewers get a clear picture of what they are in for before they invest over 10 minutes of their precious time to watch the full video. If they find from the intro that the video's content is not exactly what they are looking for, then it saves them a lot of time by clicking away and searching further for the right video . But I'll definitely try to incorporate your feedback in my future videos and try to improve my teaching methods. Once again, I honestly appreciate your valued feedback. 😊

This awesome video is about 15 min long. But I know that when I go and try to apply the techniques wonderfully and oratorically announced here, I will be on it for 3 hours+ maybe more. Gonna save this and give it a go. Blending on digital or even with pencils and markers is hard. So thank you for putting in time to help noob-noob-noobs like me to learn and understand this hard stuff. 👊🏽👍🏽
@TheGeekArtist

This video may be 15 minutes long but the painting actually took around 2 hours. Many parts of the video are sped up to fit within the 15 minutes. So if you do end up taking 3 hours, that's completely fine!

It's so different from the way I shade, I like laying down all the shadows first before blending them, which means my paintings go thru an ugly phase that yours apparently don't.

how do you get your smudge tool to paint like that? My current method is using the eraser and lightly erasing to give it a smooth blend. But when I try and use the smudge tool I get small lines as like its suppose to when you smudge something it runs along that line you paint. I don't know how you are able to smudge it and make it look so smooth.

I know im late but i have a question: how do you pick color and change the primary color automatically? It changes the secondary to me and i Always have to pick, switch from primary to secondary, and its annoying as hell...
@TheGeekArtist
@TheGeekArtist 8 ай бұрын
"I" Is the short cut for color picking or the eyedropper tool. When you have the brush tool selected, you can click "Alt" to toggle to the eyedropper tool to pick a certain color. Then release Alt to switch back to the brush tool. You can also switch between the background and foreground colors by clicking on the small 90° angle double arrow icon on the top right corner of the two color swatches at the bottom of the tool bar. I hope this helps.

But how do you know exactly where you put the shadow because you shape them like you know the anatomy of that pose so do you have a reference imagie on second screen or sumthing?
@TheGeekArtist
@TheGeekArtist Күн бұрын
I already created a reference by painting a rough painting and keep it open on one corner of my canvas. I use that as a reference to understand which parts will be in shadow and which parts will be in highlight. I further use my sense of anatomy to refine those rough sketches while translating them to the final rendered art. Alternatively you can also use real images of body builders as reference to understand the forms of the muscles better.
@Atomic-toons00
@Atomic-toons00 Күн бұрын
@@TheGeekArtist but did you use a real image of some bodybuilder as reference to sketch your own reference?

just curious, why don't you use the pentool when you want to make the selection for the base color?
@TheGeekArtist
@TheGeekArtist 2 күн бұрын
I guess it's a matter of preference? Personally I find pen tool very mechanical. If I were making a vector illustration or making something in Illustrator in general, I would of course use pen tool. But when it comes to painting, I always prefer the lasso tool. It just feels a lot more natural and intuitive. And I am way faster with lasso tool compared to pen tool.

You can do this technique with a mouse?
@TheGeekArtist
@TheGeekArtist 2 ай бұрын
To answer you question, yes. The smudging and airbrush will be pretty easy with mouse. The tricky part will be making the selection with lasso tool. If you have a lot of patience and very steady hands, give it a shot!
