Yes the blank screen appesrs. Click 3 dogs on the tip tight corner amd voila. Block option. You can see them in your blocled list too. I just tried am account on which my account is blocked

FYI This is the only way its worked for me. Tag the person you want to block in a comment. It might say something like "Cant tag this person because only their friends can". Click "OK" then it takes you to their page. Click the 3 dots at the top right and block them there!

You'll be lucky if they restricted mentioning their profile. In my case i did it and mention did not send. I clicked their account name which was red and still able to block them and the mention vanished itself as it wasn't allowed. I can see the account in the blocked list now

You are getting can't mention, don't worry go to the rightmost side of you screen and at the top go to the three dots button and click block

Okay, so I've tried so many things & after loads of research I have finally found the answer.. so u can either try 1 of 3 things… (all will depend on the settings of the person who has blocked u) Create another account & block them from there - however, this will only wrk if they didn't select the option to ‘block this user & any other Instagram accounts they have’ when they blocked u as a user Mention them in a comment usin the ‘at' symbol & their user name & press enter.. press the OK button & this should bring up their profile & u can then block them (however this will not wrk if their settings only allow followers to mention them) BUT.. the winner for me was this option!! So.. carry out option 2 & if like me the user has their settings set so only followers can mention them it will come up saying ‘no posts’ & pretty much a blank screen instead of their profile - BUT.. all is not lost!!! Press the 3 small dots in the top right corner.. scroll down & hit ‘block this user’ & they will indeed b blocked.. 😁 thank me later & spread the word!!!
