Hey Dustin, I absolutely love your channel; been subscribed since 2016! Your videos pushed me to try lamp work, and of all the art forms I've dabbled with over the years (guitar, didgeridoo, painting, jiujitsu, etc) glass work has felt the most "me". Both of my grandfathers work with glass so it's in my blood. One made stained glass art, and the other is a professional glazier. Life has gotten in the way so I wasn't able to work with glass for long, but one of my greatest goals for the next few years is to start my own little home studio, and you better believe I'll be watching the Master (you)! I love your work, and keep going! Warm regards

Your videos have helped me so much. I started out self taught for a couple years before I found your videos. You have helped me to become better with every video. Correcting bad habits that being self taught created. Winning a mentorship would mean the world to me. You are the best thing that has happened to the glass blowing community. Thank you.

Didn’t even consider just using a rod to make Maria after Maria for practice and that makes perfect sense to work on uniformity and control. Excited to give it a shot 😀

Thank you so much for these videos. I'm new and my learning is slow because it's difficult to walk to my shop. But glass is the first thing I think about in the morning and the last before bed. Sometimes I even dream about it. I'm hoping to make this my new income stream since my nerve damage has ended my driving (school Bus) career. See, when I can make it to my shop, glass is the only thing that makes the pain go away. It's crazy, it's like I fall into the glass & flame, and time just goes away. I friggin love it. This medium is like playing with lava. You are like a god when playing with glass, because you can create anything! Thank you so much for these tutorials! I'm not very good yet, but I will be! Much love from the land of ten thousand lakes (MN)!

Recently, my wife and I took a class locally for our anniversary. We both made two ladybugs. I've kept going to that shop to learn more. Is there a place that I can go for terminology? I heard another video talking about a maria, but there are only a few videos discussing what it actually is. I'm used to college classes where you get all that kind of thing up front, before actually doing anything. But I know it's hard to do that much for a date night class. I'll go see what else you have posted.

I’m trying to find the research on why people call the shape a Maria. Is it a term that everybody decided to agree or is there historical significance behind the name and shape?
