How did a boost controller blow up the engine?

Basically an actual tune will flash the ECU and it'll keep track of multiple parameters and make more changes to the whole system. The JB4 controller "basically" just sees the ECU ask for we'll say 7psi of boost and it'll ramp that upto something like say 12psi.... But the ECU doesn't know you just did that so it can't compensate or adjust anything accordingly. AND on top of that a lot of people run a higher map (guilty of that myself) and causing extra engine knock causing further issues.
