I’ve been doing bonsai now for 4 years and I still love bonsai for beginners videos, there’s a lot of rumours that hold people back from doing bonsai and it’s a personal goal change that, you can bonsai any tree, it’s doesn’t have to be expensive, it doesn’t take too long, we don’t torcher trees!! I was at one of the local home improvement stores and picked up this tree. It is one, like yours, low growing and a whole lot older. For those 2 reasons I decided to not buy it. The limbs are really twisted and really thick. Don’t think they make wire thick enough to hold a bend.I think I bit off more than I can chew!

Good question! It's best not to fertilise 6 weeks after reporting as it can burn the roots. Although I used organic compost mixed in, it's still good to fertilise the tree after that. The nutrients in the soil will eventually run out so its good to keep it topped up! Hope this helps

Wow! Thank you for this. I bought a Bonsai at Costco (in the US) and had no idea you could wire and mold the branches. The only thing I wish you had touched on is how much and how often to water a juniper like this. Seems I haven't been watering mine enough and I lost a lot of growth on it because it dried out and became brittle.

Generally speaking. In bonsai we don't want the soil to ever dry out. We want it moist but but not waterlogged 😄

Hey Monkey! To care for a Japanese red maple, it is important to plant it in well-draining soil and in a location that receives partial shade. They require regular watering, especially during hot and dry weather, and benefit from occasional fertilization. It's important to keep an eye out for pests and diseases, such as aphids and fungal infections, and address them promptly. Pruning should be done in late winter or early spring to shape the tree and promote new growth. 🤗🌳

Adam? I got 2 junipers and trying to turn them into bonsai, but i have them indoors. I know they are for outdoors, but I’m curious if I can use something to help it grow inside for 2 years, when I’ll move to a house from appartment.

Hey! While junipers are typically best suited for outdoor conditions, it is possible to keep them indoors temporarily with proper care. To help your junipers grow indoors, provide them with as much direct sunlight as possible, maintain suitable temperature and humidity levels, ensure proper air circulation, water them carefully and fertilize them regularly. However, it's important to understand that Junipers thrive in outdoor environments and may not reach their full potential or long-term health if kept indoors for an extended period. Anyone I have heard that kept Juniper indoors it has unfortunately died on them. A Ficus is a great species for indoor Bonsai! Hope this helps!

It is yeah! As long as the pot is big enough to sustain the tree and you are not removing too much roots at once to fit it into the pot. 🤗

Hey! After 3 weeks when the tree settles into the pot you can then begin to fertilise. I recommend a high nitrogen fertiliser for the growing season 🤗
