Annoyingly, Hyatt monthly points calendar does not give you real time availability. You have to check specific dates individually to see if they are accepting points

We just booked a stay at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome that comes to $0.036 per point value. $1,435 per night/40k points. It will be our third stay there over the years. Combined with Chase’s 10x ultimate rewards points per dollar on hotels booked through their portal with the Sapphire Reserve card or Hyatt’s 9.5 points per dollar using the Hyatt card for Discoverists that’s like getting over 30% back per dollar spent. If you like to travel, it sure beats 1-2% cash back cards.

Why do you say your stay was "free"? You used points that you had to earn by spending money. That is also true for the bonus points you get for signing up for a card. They only award you those points after you spend so much money. For the World of Hyatt card you can earn 60,000 points after you spend $12,000. Not "free".

technically it’s “free” because if ur already gonna use the credit card for bills, or other purchases that were already gonna be used then the bonus points is free for hyatt

I see your reasoning that (unless you actually purchased the points with cash) they were free since you didn’t pay for them. But in reality, you could have received cash for using that card instead of getting Hyatt points or you could have gotten points that would pay for other things like flights. So you may not have paid for the points but they have value and you had to perform some requirements to get them. I perform requirements for my employer and he gives me money. I don’t consider my paycheck as free money nor do I consider the Hyatt points as free or the stay I bought with points as free. I guess we all have a different view on things.

@@allent1034 Forsure i get what ur saying , i just think if u value more of like hotels and resorts then using the hyatt points is worth the buck but ur right because if u don’t value those experiences then it’s really not a good measurement for that demographic
