The UK visa application does not really require a flight reservation. It's the Schengen visa application that requires one. My guess is embassies require a reservation to gauge how much your would be flights are and what might your flight route be. Then check both against your financial capacity and your itinerary.

I usually don't use companies that sell onward tickets; I directly book with the airline or use their reservation services. I'll research onward tickets companies and let you know if I find one that's legit. Typically, if a company gives you a reservation number and you can confirm this with the airline website, that means the have legitimately reserved you a flight.

Oh, I never knew about the hold ticket option. The Swiss visa states "confirmed reservation with booking reference number" -meaning, we have to buy an actual ticket -hopefully that has a refundable option? And, it also states for hotels "confirmed with applicant's names as a guest" or "package tour confirmation by travel agent including receipt confirming payment". Its difficult to find some B&B that gives you full refund😅

Hi! None of these three options are good enough. Hold the price only works for 2 to 7 days and a visa application can take 45 days. Pay at local office still requires the option of canceling. ... and a flight itinerary has a high chance of being rejected by the bureaucrats. I already tried that and it did not work. This video is not very helpful.

These options have worked for all my Schengen Visa applications, never had any problem with them. Where are you applying from? Also, for the flight itinerary as I have iterated, you'll have to check the specific embassy requirement. You can always choose to pay travel agencies for lengthier reservations.

The specific embassy requirements are often unclear. The difference in between requirements and the stories I hear from people that have successfully applied for a visa are too big to comfortably know what you have to do. VFS global is f@cking things up quite badly in my opinion. It is NOT clear and the process is forcing me to buy an expensive flight ticket without knowing if the visa gets approved. NOT good. Schengen visas are often rejected for people with no money AFAIK, there are 5 countries in the Schengen Zone that requires the applicant to have their own financial means even for sponsored travels: Denmark, Finland, Italy (minimal), Greece (minimal), and France (minimal). 3/4 of my Schengen Visas were sponsored and I did not have millions in my account. I've also encountered sponsored visa applicants with less than 50,000 PHP in their account and got approved. In which country will your girlfriend submit her application? She'll need to focus on her home ties instead of financial account IF she won't be applying in the 5 countries I've mentioned. 2. The specific embassy requirements are unclear. I think they're as clear as can be. Each country has a checklist. Which parts are unclear? You and your girlfriend can join multiple Schengen Visa groups on Facebook and ask clarifying questions. Some people overdo their application and submit unnecessary documents, and that's where the confusion arises for other applicants🙃 3. VFS is f-d up. To this, I would agree 😂 Their lines are long, there's not enough seats to accommodate applicants with scheduled appointments, and their website is frequently down. BUT they don't require a fully-paid flight ticket, they have NO authority to do so. The embassies only require a reservation or a travel itinerary, NOT a paid ticket (unless applying from the UK). You can directly contact the embassy to clarify this. Have you tried using the options I've given and your girlfriend's visa application was rejected? These options I've presented are available for people to try out, it's for free. Again, if you're in doubt you have the option of purchasing from a travel agent 4. There are so many questions following up this video What are the exact questions? about validity? acceptability? I've encountered first time applicants and travelers use the options I've enumerated and they didn't have any problems even when their applications took more than a week to process. In my case, Switzerland is strict when it comes to ticket reservations and travel insurance, all 4 of my Schengen visas were processed within a week so that's beyond the free flight reservation option. The embassy once contacted me to ask about my inter-schengen travel plans as I didn't have any transportation reservations for travel outside Switzerland BUT they've never questioned the flight reservation. They've also asked me to change insurance providers when the insurance I submitted was still renewing their Schengen compliance. Overall, I think you're venting your frustrations on the documentary requirements, the lengthy process obtaining them, and the overwhelming information available, not just the free flight reservation in the video. You can ask your girlfriend to send me a message if she'd like to connect.

The airline will only hold the fare for the stated number of hours. You won't be charged the full amount. The airline will send you a notification that the hold the fare reservation is ending and if you'd like to proceed with the booking to pay for the full fare. If you don't pay for the full amount, the airline won't charge your card.

What do you mean by "won't the embassy cancel"? Your flight reservation will be automatically cancelled after 48 hours if you don't pay for the whole flight. And in my applications, that's fine (I've had a total of 4 Schengen Visas).

Since you'd like a longer flight reservation, I'm afraid the options I have given won't work. Those options are only good for 1-7 days. You'll have to use the services of a flight reservation company if it's longer reservations. 3. You can send me an email at [e-mail] and I'll send you a copy of invitation letter template. Also, as you'll be applying in Germany, your brother has to send you the Verpflichtungserklärung or formal obligation which he has to obtain from his municipality.

Better to get the reservation either on the day of your appointment or a day before your appointment. I never had a problem with option 2 for my visa application kahit pa tumagal yung application for more than 3 days.

So far I haven't experienced any problems using the methods I've explained when applying for visas even when the reservation is only valid for 48-72 hours For longer reservations and if in doubt, you'll have to book with accredited travel agencies or with the airline itself (from 10-50 USD)

Nope, the embassies only need a reservation. If the reservation has lapsed during the processing period, it's understandable as each airline can only hold bookings for certain periods.

Hi maam. Hope you can answer me. Im applying visa for Netherlands. If gagamitin ko ung opt 3. ilan days po sya valid? Nag submit na ba ako nag requirements for visa icoconfirm na po ba un ng embassy. What if delay sila tas late na nila ma notify tas wala nako record sa reservation ng ticket. Panu po yun. Thank you!

If option 3, the embassy won't be able to verify it since you're merely submitting screenshots of the flight. If concerned la with verification, go with either option 1 or 2. Both are verifiable and would last from 48-72 hours.
