BIG thumbs up! The DVD reader didn't show up in the boot override menu, but when I saved & rebooted, it did show up when pressing ESC. I am saved! I can boot from a DVD now. Now I can install Win7. BTW, I just got this laptop used and boot from CD/DVD had been removed as a boot option. Great thanks!

Hi man, I have an ASUS X541N with BIOS American Megatrend v 313 and I don't have that Launch CSM option no matter what. I already disabled Fast boot and secure boot but the Launch CSM didn't appeared. Im trying to boot from my USB stick but no success. Do you have any idea how to solve it? Thank u.

note: if you have a 2008 version of Aptio Setup Utility, the 'Launch CSM' will not exist ---> to boot with USB, go to save and exit, where you will find the USB boot option.

I have the same issue, I have the same Bios ver but those 2 option do not exist. The only way I can boot from USB is with an old USB2 stick in the USB2 only port...

Because you use modern equipment, but Use an outdated operating system. It should not be so. But it is possible. It will not slow down as you worry. It will work fast. You can not download the driver from www.asus.com and for the Nvdia VGA card you can find the driver from this link. www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us I found it there for your machine. In addition, you need to be aware of the lack of drivers for any device after installation.
