@Phelebas I have the same jig just put a sacrafical piece of wood on the exit side .
@michael.schuler
@michael.schuler 3 жыл бұрын
@Phelebas. I've used this Templaco jig for many years. Tearout on the cross-bore exit side is completely minimal. The casting has identical holes on both sides, sized just big enough to allow the cross-bore bit to pass through them. As the casting acts as a clamp, sqeezed tightly against both sides of the door, it eliminates tearout in the same way that the guide strip does on a tracksaw. No need for any further precautions.
@RikoRey92
@RikoRey92 Жыл бұрын
The jig is made to prevent that, the hole on the other side is the exact diameter of the bit so when it comes out there's no rik of tear out, been using this jig for 3 years now bits are still sharp, only wish the templates were made out of a better material, it's pretty expensive
@JonDunnmusician

Wouldn't hurt ot put a stop collar on the drill bits to prevent them from falling to the ground. Also, the safety police in me reminds you that you have a family that depends on you have sight to do your job.
