always thought this era of sound design was so cool (especially Nintendo consoles from the DS to the Wii U) because I never could figure out how it was done, should've known it was mostly just sine waves and automation haha this hits those feelings perfectly, love your take on this one ❤❤

probably one of the best audio visual videos on all of youtube. i know your style is to have text at the bottom, but would love to see the text above the DS screen so I can keep up with what you've been adding effect wise!

This video has made me realise how logo sounds or sounds for games sound effects goes along way. Long story short small details in things like sounds adds to the overall quality of life. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with logo sound designing. 😇

this reminds me a lot of 'collapse (demoware)' by seiho from 2015-ish actually ... amazing inside look into how that kind of sound might've been made!

Such an amazing tutorial! I just handed in my university assignment last week where i had to create similar botanical sound design/ambience, would have been useful for then hahaha

what sample libraries do you have with all these cool sounds like “wind chimes” and other things?
@phritzmusicАй бұрын
the windchime is prob just some sample I got from splice! the foley sounds are either stuff I recorded or just sounds from lofi sample packs

may i ask where do you usually get those foley samples? thank you phritz! :)
@sensukuАй бұрын
i would wanna know too
@phritzmusicАй бұрын
this one particular foley sample used in this video is probably a sound I recorded/made myself, but other than that I have a collection of packs from Samplified, Mr.Bill, Adobe Audition (downloadable from their website), and splice (the obvious one) to name a few.

hey! I've been trying to figure this out for a bit, what device do you use for the video?

@IDGs_space19 күн бұрын
@@phritzmusic oh lol i have no idea how I didn't clarify on that, the m4l (?) device you use for the nintendo DS logo video
@phritzmusic18 күн бұрын
@@IDGs_space could it be the ‘bokeh’ or ‘romb’ device you’re referring to? they’re both from Fors so highly recommend checking them out!
@IDGs_space18 күн бұрын
@@phritzmusic I totally love fors stuff haha, but im specifically talking about the video player that you use for the DS intro, it looks like it's connected to ableton since when you play the piece in ableton the video plays in sync too I made the assumption that it's an m4l device but I could be mistaken 🙏
@phritzmusic18 күн бұрын
@@IDGs_space OH that's just the built in ableton video player, simply hit 'ctrl + alt + v (or cmd + option + v on mac)' and it'll pop up!
@otg176Ай бұрын
@managumАй бұрын
what does that keyswitch-device do?
@phritzmusicАй бұрын
it’s basically a little handy tool that can switch between the articulations inside of BBC symphony orchestra (or other orchestral plugins perhaps) without having to open up the plugin UI!
