I wanted to see how a precision version of this braid is made. Thank you; beautiful work. I usually make them from leather lace that I cut with scissors from offcuts, so mine are not so fancy. I do rub them smooth afterwards with oil and a rough cloth. I make handy shoulder bag straps with the offcuts from the little bags themselves, with a nylon paracord core for strength. Every craftsperson needs to know this cool 8 braid.

quality in music, talented fingers, consideration of slow requests, clear and calm-polite conversations...May you grow by ten thousand viewers/students. In Alaska, we would braid yarn ties for otter or beaver and moose hide outer mitts so the ties attached to them and across the chest could not be blown down the Yukon River winter trail. My dad after WWII taught himself leather carving in belts and pocketbooks on a dude ranch in Catskills, New York while also a horse riding instructor and he would have loved your entire excellent web videos. See? Now THIS is ASMR for me, esp when you're cutting the leather so confidently, after measuring it, and also when you're chopping or slicing the leather as you've done for a curved edge, like with the iPods case and etc. It's got such a satisfying sound, like some musicians, & dj's who have, sampled a chopping sound in with a 'dominant' beat that's featured in many, many tunes maybe in last 10 years, (or more?), there's something comforting in subtly playing an action people know from somewhere, yet it's kind of under the radar too! Chop chop, I'm also back to cooking, at long last, but I'm still not as skilled at cooking as you are at making things I feel.
