Here is how you can separate large cosplay props for easy transportation using a @DremelEurope ! I’m working mostly with PVC pipes in different thicknesses and strong neodym magnets. The Dremel is great to cut the pipes into the right length and drill holes for the necessary magnets. Try it out, it’s super handy!

I did something similar with Lady Sif's sword between the blade and the handle using a pair of metal tubes that fit inside each other. First try used magnets, but wasn't nearly strong enough when swinging the sword around, so I JB-welded a nut in one side and a bolt in the other so they screw together securely. It was a pain to get them lined up and at the correct length, and if it breaks loose I'm pretty well screwed, so in the future I might drill a hole in both like you did here and use a cotter pin to hold them together.

What’s the reason for taping the magnet when the super glue was dried? Also, in the beginning what is the black sheet that got inserted into the PVC pipe? Tape? some kind of black tape?

What if I accidentally bought the pvc a little snug do you think I can heat it up and shove it in?

Seems like a pin would work better. Or a quick release thread

I wish I had a Dremel tool too. However I find that I can do most things with simple hand tools and a drill. It just takes a little patience and a bit more time. Keep building what you love 😁💕

For certain foam you could probably use hand held wood carving tools just the same. I actually might try that myself.
