That’s a really good idea. I’ll have to look and see if there’s one available for this generator. I have been putting quite a few hours on mine recently

Be careful with those magnetic oil plugs, alot of people say the magnetic tip can fall out of the housing and drop into the engine, I side on the error of caution and just put the OEM plug back in

Mate, a lil bit extensiv, one oil swap will do after a few h of use.

Ok good Video , I've watched Alot of these, the common thread is use mineral oil for the initial Break in , yes do the 3 or 4 changes then go with a Quality Full synthetic , but typically most ppl will use 10w 30, only a hand full of ppl will tip a table spoon Into the head -personally I like that idea as well 👍

Folks do not put Lucas in your generators. Also marvel mystery oil completely is not necessary. Just cleaning oil that we will use. Filling your generator is just fine.

I don't understand why people think that adding oil to another oil will enhance lubrication.

Why is it still smoking after several hours of use
@SteelDogFab Жыл бұрын
Great question. It still smokes a bit on start up now even. Good chance it’s because they are cheap generators
@AJ-qn6gd11 ай бұрын
Have you tried it with 10w30 oil as that will be less viscous when cold, air cooled engines are built to looser tolerances due to having less temperature control than a water cooler cooled engine hence the need for a “thicker” oil, might be worth a try 👍🏻🇬🇧

@@AJ-qn6gd I would have to look at the video again, but I think I have 5w20 or 5w30 in it now. Just for winter.

Question, why do you think running eco mode off on first run is good. I thought running it first on low rpm would be a way to go. Id turn it off on the second hour
@SteelDogFab Жыл бұрын
With eco-mode on, the engine runs so slow, I would rather let it heat up and seat the rings
@paul9387 Жыл бұрын
@FordManMT wouldn't eco mode off after first oil change and adding a load after second oil change be better? To gradually increase the heat starting as easy as possible and reaching 50% or 75% load capacity at the end. I'm not challenging you here, please don't take it this way. I recently purchased a brand new expensive inverter generator and am trying to find best way to do it and get some knowledge Thank you for your time

@@paul9387 Did the manual come with a break in procedure? I did some research online as well and took a combination of a couple different ways. The break in I showed is pretty thorough, and ever since I will say this cheap Chinese (branded Cummins) generator starts first pull every time. I think most companies don’t expect anyone to break them in, so any break in procedure you do is better than nothing
@paul9387 Жыл бұрын
@FordManMT it did come, and what they said via email and what it says in their manual are two different things 🤦 as you said, break it in any way as long as it's broken in. Another thing, mine is tri fuel. I wonder if it matters during break in what I supply it with. It's got three different Wattage on all three. Gasoline is the strongest, then propane and last natural gas. But you know what? I might be over thinking all this. But that's my approach to pretty much everything, my friends call it OCD lol Thank you for your help!
@SteelDogFab Жыл бұрын
@@paul9387 I would for sure break it in on gasoline, gasoline is the most corrosive of those fuels, and if it has the highest wattage output, it’s because it produces the most power. That’s what I would break the generator in on.
