In this tutorial I will teach you how to breathe in the correct way - generally and while exercising. Breathing properly while working out is important because you will get MORE out of your workout - with simply breathing right!
Belly and chest breathing are the two major types. I will discuss which of them is better, how to breathe in properly and what it actually does to us. Breathing correctly helps us in many ways and has many positive effects.
Especially while exercising, a proper breathing technique will boost your workout efficiency a lot. Remember this video next time you run, bench press, do sit ups, pull ups or push ups.
Now take a deep breath and enjoy this video!

It shows that you've done your research and you know what you're talking about :) thanks for the knowledge, I didn't think I'd learn something new having seen and heard so much already about that topic. But you really explained it well and I feel it's gonna stay with me for longer!

Such a great video Victor!! In my experience, this is the one area many people struggle with - and it can make such a difference in one’s overall fitness achievements! Very informative as all your videos are- I’m always impressed with your acting!! 🙌🙌 And really great graphics!! I wasn’t aware nose breathing was that much more beneficial than mouth breathing!!

I remember when I was younger I learned that we should breath in from our nose and out our mouth. I felt like wow my whole life was a lie lol. I haven’t tried exhaling from my nose mainly thats new to me actually lol
@VitalityFitnessScience
@VitalityFitnessScience 2 жыл бұрын
Haha yeah Ronin I was told the same! Actually when we would breath like that on a long term it would be unhealthy but as we do it only while sports its not sooo affecting us. 💪🏼

Thanks for the great content, very useful. I've always thought that we should exhale by the mouth to breathe properly, i.e. that it was not only better than exhaling by the nose but also the only correct way. Thanks for sharing that there is no scientific evidence supporting that. Another misconception spread in the strength & conditioning world. Keep up the great work!!

Correct me if I'm wrong. Breathe OUT on contraction of the muscles and breathe IN on relaxation of the muscles.
@VitalityFitnessScience
@VitalityFitnessScience Жыл бұрын
Kind of! In pull ups e.g. both up and down are contracting muscles - but the "higher" intensity so to say is for breathing out 💪🏼

From what I gathered, if you fight gravity, you breath OUT ...so when moving arms upwards, going up from a squat, a hip thrust or a push up you breath out

Yes, obviously having more carbon dioxide in your body means that you will be able to take in more oxygen! Thats literally what diffusion is! Gasses move from a high concentration to a low concentration! If you have a higher concentration of CO2 in your blood you have less o2! This does NOT mean, however, that having more co2 is good, because you take in more oxygen! No, infact, CO2 is EXTREMELY dangerous in high concentrations in the bloodstream! Believe it or not, we can actually survive for quite a while without oxygen. And when you hold your breath for a while and start to get the urge to breath, that doesnt mean that you need oxygen either. Whats happening, is your body detects that you have a high concentration of co2 in your blood, which can react and turn into carbonic acid. In order to prevent this from happening, your body triggers a breath reflex to force you to breath, so it can get ride of the co2! Its not so you can get more oxygen, its so that you can get rid of co2!
