175 degrees (80) is very cool for hojicha. Strange recommendation. Hojicha can tolerate boiling water very well. I like to brew in the 190-200 degree range (88-93 Celsius) for extra intense and delicious roasty flavors

Hi, I'm from Indonesia. Currently learning about Eastern tea after enjoying quite a lot of Western tea. Glad to find that the tea I'm most familiar with is the easiest to brew. Btw, just curious, do Japanese have flower teas?

I don't really know of any flower teas in Japan. The only thing I can think of that is at least some what popular is sakura tea which is made with sencha leaves and cherry blossom petals. Of course we just prefer the tea plain without the flowers

Can tried a hojicha tea ... Dropped the tea bag at somewhere near 100c ... It started smelling like tobacco.. is that how it is?
