Great video. Really informative. I currently use SAM Broadcaster Pro which in general terms I like, but I prefer physical faders. At the moment, SAM does everything for me. Could I use SAM Broadcaster Pro as my music source and play it through the Rodecaster Pro and then stream via BUTT rather than SAM's built-in encoders?
@Radiodotco3 жыл бұрын
Looks like SAM Broadcaster Pro doesn't allow you to map channels, but you can take in the master feed. Maybe try Mixxx instead: manual.mixxx.org/2.2/en/chapters/advanced_topics.html#advanced-controller

Great video thanks. I have just started with a local radio station and have my own 1 hour show live. I would love to use your setup with the roadcadter pro I just can’t afford one at the moment. Where’s the best place to buy one and can I get a second hand one anywhere. I broadcast to an English audience here in Spain .

Please how do I connect "ON AIR" light in my rodcaster to automatically work whenever any mic is live
@dalefoulser67953 жыл бұрын
Thanks James, this was very informative on how to broadcast, but I am obviously missing something here! I have the RØDECaster, but don't understand how you can properly use this as a radio mixer with just one channel. If you are playing on deck 1 of Virtual DJ going to channel 5 on the RØDECaster, how are you using the PFL on the RODEcaster to listen to deck 2? Surely the faders on Virtual DJ would have to be used to go from deck 1 to deck 2? HELP!
@Radiodotco3 жыл бұрын
I'm not 100% sure (could be a setting on the mixer itself). But on the RodeCaster Pro you can use a pair of headphones to listen to the master volume as we do in the video. Find a breakdown of what's mentioned here at: radio.co/blog/broadcast-live-radio-with-the-rodecaster-pro

Hi! Is it possible to configure 2 faders to be used as a radio DJ mixing? I mean, load song A to virtual DJ, play it on channel 1, load another song to virtual DJ, and when the first song ends, play the second song and use channel 2 in the Rodecaster device to switch between them?

Hey James thank you for the tutorial. How are things going? A lot of things have change during COVID. Is it possible to do internet radio broadcast during these most financial diffculties? Is there any possibility that things can somehow go back to normal? There is quick a few people I know are no longer here. Sometimes it can be a bit discouraging at times especially those who are taking advantage of what it happening. I really believe we need more content creators than flashy fly-by-night representative and sponsors who just out to get a quick buck. I believe I have a message that will resonate with people, but, I perfer a wider audience then where I am at this present time. Thanks for everything James. Keep up the good work.👍

Cheers James. Really appreciate the post. Just a quick one.. Instead of going live, can the set up that you just described, be used to pre-record into software like Adobe Audition? Keep up the good work 👍

Yes, you can monitor the master audio on the Rodecaster Pro. Most mixers and audio interfaces do this as standard so you can tweak audio on the fly.
