How do they sound once finished? The boards seem pretty thick. Dennis at Acoustic Fields recommends the thinnest material possible for this, 3 to 5 mm.

At the risk of seeming snarky, if you love music, why would you have EDM in the background?

Incredible work to build the room treatments! I think I'm going to build a space coupling diffuser for my listening room. I'm thinking 70"x36"x2.5 mounted behind the listening position, which is the center of a couch. The room is small 11.5x11 one wall, left side sitting in the listening position, is open to the living room below. In the listening room the ceiling is slanted 5' starting on the front wall and 11' on the back wall and the ceiling of the living room is also slanted so when looking left, it's open space eye level and above down to the living room below. I'm not sure how big or small to make the lattice design? Any ideas? Because of the size of the room, the couch is all the way against the back wall. The front of the speakers are 38" from the front wall. The bass response is good, not boomy. One wall open and the ceiling probably play a role in that, I think for the better? I do have a strong center image. After researching and accounting for given measurements of the space, I hope a space coupling diffuser is the best choice. A skyline diffuser would look cooler but may not work as well?

Hey there @vuch9208 , thanks for your message and interest. Your questions are not easy to answer though. It depends from too many variables. I suggest you to ask advise to a certified acoustic engineer. We did that. It was a great experience. They come and measure the room with special machines (pink and white noise tests with oscilloscopes and other gear). They needed to know every detail about the floor, walls and ceiling materials. Regarding the control rooms, they also wanted to know the exact model of speakers we would put in. I was surprised when they told us: "Without the exact speakers' model, we are not able to provide you with a proper project". They also wanted to know the mixers model, not for their sound, but for their dimensions and surface angles (first reflections issues). We had to agree with them also on the shape of studio furniture and the shape and the position of our couch and chairs. We also told them we were on a budget, but we could put in time to build, hence they literally design every single piece of acoustics and let us build it by ourselves -> you can watch a miniseries on our @karmalunastudios channel regarding how we have built our Studio 2. And they also visited us a few times during construction, to verify our acoustic axis and our elements' angles between one another, and tested again the acoustic response and suggested slight changes. For last, they trimmed some last minor speakers' settings (amplifier switches and knobs) and gave us their final thumb up. A real long job from start to finish, but I can tell you we are so happy about it. All mixes are now good at the first try, such a difference compared to how we used to work before. I strongly suggest the advise of some professionals before spending time and energy on your studio acoustics. Good luck with your project and take care!
