UPDATED VIDEO LINK: • How To Build a 2x4 MAS...
In this video, I build a simple Mason Bee house using a piece of 2x4 lumber. This step-by-step build is a very cost effective way to provide a natural option for your Mason Bees, especially if you have run out of pre-made tubes. Once filled, you may choose to store the house as is, until spring and then just put it out for the bees to emerge on their own, or open it up in late Autumn to access the cocoons for cleaning and storage.

Project Wood Dimensions (inches):
Two-by-four (4 blocks) - 1.5 x 3.5 x 6 (Interesting Fact: the name Two-by-Four actually refers to the dimensions of the lumber when it is cut and still moist. Once the wood dries, and is planed and trimmed, it usually loses a half an inch in all directions. Basically, all the dimensional lumber for purchase at your typical store is actually smaller than what its advertised dimensions are.)
Roof -5.5 x7
The drill is a 3/8 spade bit.
