where did you hear the color white was best? Just reading about bee behavior I don't understand why they'd choose a white box when they prefer their nest in the dark.

We are located in Florida and if we had used black or gray buckets they would heat up way too quick. If we were making a wooden swarm trap that has more of an insulating value or for the folks up north i dont think the color would matter as much. We do hang most of the buckets in dead or dying oak trees that are pretty dark and initially attract scouts. I hope that helps and thanks!
