An actual video in depth of the all mighty 4b11. love it, definitely saving this, I got a lancer I have been specing out for a while now and it uses the 4b11 NA version. Both the turbo and NA version are about the same with really the only big difference is one has a turbo

I know this was 8 months ago… And Maybe I need my eyes checked.. But did you install the thrust washers with the grooved side facing the block? The service manual says to install with grooved side facing crankshaft counter weight. I’m asking because this out of 4 other people on KZbin, only one person has done it like the manual states lol.

Those bolts on the big cap that broke, I'm guessing those bolts got mixed up with a couple others somewhere else. At least the bolt yielded rather than damaging threads in the head! I've got a 2010 Evo X with a built motor that locked up on my 3rd day of ownership, so I'll be on this journey soon enough!

if you want to work on another one, ive got an evo x and a ralliart sitting collecting dust - I cant find a mechanic where i live that wants to work on it and after seeing this... thought id reach out and see if there was a chance I could talk ya into helping me out - i lifted the head on my 700hp build that was similar to this and the X has the ralliarts stock engine in it atm - LMK if you want to come back to Vermillion sometime and Id love to meet ya, the car, and maybe talk some more about paying you to finish my project up if interested - can thank Lisa G. for introducing me to your channel - thanks for the content either way

Ship it down to me haha!
@Cheddawurf Жыл бұрын
honestly wouldnt mind doing that at this point - I can probably throw it on a trailer and bring it down - any interest in the ralliart as partial payment? I tore threads out of the block when the head lifted but the sleeves are still good on the built block - im not well versed enough to know if it would be worth having a machine shop drop some inserted threads in and try pushing the original block back into the evo - the ralliart is all stock with a bad trans - still got the rear end and if the original evo block is salvageable, the currently running ralliart one would go with it :D been a long time since ive had her going though and if your serious, we should connect soon - was gonna take it a couple states away last year but then baby happened @@bschoenborn

How do you decide what oil clearance you want if its not stock engine for a subaru what factors do you consider and is there anything basic for that ?!
@bschoenborn Жыл бұрын
Good question! Clearance depends on a few factors... 2 of which are based on the oil you are running and how much power you are looking for. I run 20W-50 in the built motors so I can get away with being a bit looser than normal. Too tight and it gets very hot, oil temps rise, and you risk pre-mature bearing failure... obviously if its too loose, you can have a multitude of other issues including a knock so you just have to find that safe middle ground. Go within the specs and play around with it. Takes some time to figure out what works best for you. If you plan on running 20W-50 and pushing around the same power, I would just run the specs I do. They've been proven all around haha. The faster that engine is spinning, the warmer it gets, so you want to allow a little more clearance to compensate for the expansion of metal from the heat. Hope that helps!

@@bschoenborn thank you so much brother i use 10w60 in Middle East so i think i need bit more clearance than the stock engine , thanks brother
