Thank you so much! I made a 10 foot bar rail. I’m a machinist, I did the work after hours at work on a Bridgeport milling machine. Ok, the cove I had to do on the table saw, but otherwise, it came out fantastic!

I refinished our basement over a year ago and built an eight foot bar in it. I bought a cheap ($59) piece of laminate countertop to (temporarily) put on top of it until I had some extra time and money to upgrade it. Looked at stone and found it to be way too expensive. I was going to fabricate a concrete one, but changed my mind because of the work that was involved. I found your video and chose to tackle this project. I couldn't be more happier with the final results. Your video was very instructional and super easy to understand. I wish I could show you a picture of it. You'd be proud. Thanks for the video.

Going to build a bar in our basement. I was wondering how to do that rail. Wow you made it look very easy. I have some wood working skills from working my late father whom did working a lot as a hobby. Hoping ours turns out as good as yours. Thanks

That's amazing you made that in your shop. I just got one priced out mahogany for a restaurant, they usually use a moulding machine with special knives. It was $800 for the custom knife profile and another $200 to cut it for 32'. You saved a good deal of money doing it on your own, great job!

Thank you for sharing this content, it was just what I was after. I did change the dimensions to make it work for me. I also found that multi passes with the table saw worked well instead of the router. However mine was only 4 foot. Thanks again

Watching your skill was truly inspiring. Have you done this with some hardwoods like White Oak or Walnut? If so, did that make things more challenging?

hello thank you yes i have you just have to go more slower on the saw cause its a harder materiel it harder to cut in

2 queations: What are your table saw settings when you make the 20° cuts. What is the blade height and what is the fence set at? I can't seem to get the cuts right. Also, What router bit did you use to bore out where you couldnt make the angle cut? Thank you and amazimg video!
@ltscustomwoodworks40522 жыл бұрын
The router bit is a flush trim bit and the blade hight is 3/4 of an inch hight

I have been watching how you make you bar rails. Do you do a rounded corner for the rail or mitered corner. Do you have a video for that.
@ltscustomwoodworks405211 ай бұрын
Hello no I don't have any videos on that I just miter them

Do u set the saw blade at 20 degrees?
@ltscustomwoodworks4052 Жыл бұрын
I dont angle the blade at all
@j.dipersio35508 ай бұрын
@11:02 was there a screw up? the cut was no where even close to the line that you drew?
@Carrpocalypse8 ай бұрын
I thought the same, but I blew it up and watched it carefully and saw that on one of the 20 degree cuts, the top of the blade didn't start at the line, it met the line. I experimented on a scrap piece of wood yesterday and it worked as demonstrated. Now, I'm trying to wrap my mind around how he used a flush trim router on the last 20 degree cut. I can probably jig something up and use a straight cut bit if I think of it as a 90 degree angle based on the first 20 degree cut...

I have a question. When you are doing your 20 degree angle cuts, what is the height of the blade? Are you still cutting at 1/2 in depth or did you raise the blade up for the thickness of the bar top material?
@ltscustomwoodworks4052 Жыл бұрын
no just 1/2 inch
