“It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it. Life is long enough, and a sufficiently generous amount has been given to us for the highest achievements if it were all well invested. But when it is wasted in heedless luxury and spent on no good activity, we are forced at last by death’s final constraint to realize that it has passed away before we knew it was passing. So it is: we are not given a short life but we make it short, and we are not ill-supplied but wasteful of it… Life is long if you know how to use it.” - Seneca ✨

I too want someone to suck out some of my ambition just to feel content sometimes. Once I achieve something I just want to jump onto the next thing, even though I worked for years to get here.

I feel the same way he feels about lunch at mindless social gatherings.. like, “Why are we wasting time doing this when we could be building something great?”

Gary no lie, I was number 1 in the world in Madden during 7th grade. Sadly, it lasted about only 17 hours. Anyways, I made over 800 dollars off the game by mentoring others through my head set. My strategy was to play conservative and punt the ball on 4th down. Dolphins never had a good qb. Therefore, I had a strong 80 - 20 run pass ratio and about a +3 turnover differential. Every year, I was a top 100 player for the first 3 months. My daily weekend grind back in NJ went like this. 7am - 12pm Caddy at Colonia Country Club. 1pm - dark cut lawns. Before bed I would rack up a few wins with the fins. During the school days, I was making about 12 dollars a day selling candy, soda, tshirts, & even hosting my own lottery. My dream vacation is to tour the wine library with you. In fact, walk me through the baseball card locations and all the ways you came up. #jerseystrong

Gary Vee, I follow you very closely to this day. I have the same problem. I have a digital marketing business and work an IT job that has me working every other Saturday. I'm in the gym by 4A each day which give me just enough time to lift, take a shower and drive an hour to my FT job and arrive by 7A. I work through my lunch on my business but there is simply not enough time in that hour to do multiple analysis' of prospects and then compose an email with substance that will really open a door and when I do get a solid lead, they only want to meet during the hours that I am at my full-time job. I leave at 4P just to come home and help my wife with the kids - dinner, etc. Some evenings I can send out some emails and do some research but we get the kiddos to bed by 8P and I'm in bed by 9P. That last hour in the day is spent with my wife (we just recently fixed our marriage after filing for divorce. This IT job is sucking the life out of me and my wife doesn't have enough confidence in the business to let me quit and only focus on the marketing business. I'm stuck and don't know what to do.

I feel for you. But I would say focus on your relationships first. When the trust comes back, you will know you have invested an appropriate amount of time into the most important thing. Side hustling won't mean anything if your family isn't there. IMO when you and your family feel more secure in your trust and love, then the time for side hustling will come more organically

Sarah, thanks for asking this. Gary, thank you for answering it and thanks to the team for choosing it. I am also a teacher looking for ways to branch out. About "find your cadence"- what a big help!!! My cadence is NOT yours, Gary! But thanks to you I can say that I'm hitting more of a rhythm!!!

More people need to make excuses to do things instead of making excuses not to do things. I post a video five days a week now while working two full time jobs and when I go to working only one job (maybe next year) I plan to post two videos five days a week. You can do anything you put your mind to. Make the time. Best day & Best wishes to you & yours.

am i the only one that thinks hustle is a misnomer? my association to the concept = scamming i.e a hustle is the person that cheats at cards or car sales people i.e con-artist, business people are supposed to professionals , not "hustler" (idealistically).
@Vstrum
@Vstrum 7 жыл бұрын
unknown youber There's different definitions, Rick. The hustle he's essentially talking about is to grind and engage in "busy activity" to get towards your goal. You don't act professional until you ARE professional.

Hey Gary, just wanted to let you know why I unsubbed to this channel cause you wanted feedback. When I started following your content a year and a half ago one of the things I liked the most was how focused it felt, and continued to feel over time. since the book dropped and you have been trying different things (dailyvee, more guests on the show, this channel, tiny 1-3 minute videos on the main channel or fb, etc.) I feel it has all started to lose focus and frankly feels redundant. I know you know that your hardcore fans have heard your shtick, but all of the bite sized content both on this channel and the short stuff on the other channels has become this firehose that barrages me, and an echo chamber of the same couple messages said over and over, and goes above and beyond what is appropriate. This channel is kind of the final straw of it for me, getting slammed with multiple vids of stuff I've watched before every few days in my YT feed doesn't work for me. So there's my feedback, my personal, one man's feedback, this channel is just too much. Thanks Gary! Keep up the great work! The longer form content is still rocking my world! PS: personal opinion, the name Entrepreneurship Answered sucks and is corny... alright. see you later!
