Күн бұрын

I built a simple, portable recirculating gold sluice box with a total cost under $40 using reclaimed lumber I had on hand, a few pieces of plumbing, a water pump and a sluice mat.
Your own cost will vary depending on what materials you already have on hand. I already had the lumber, buckets and water container laying around.
I got a 208 gph aquarium pump from HF. I found a piece of scrap PVC pipe in my garage. And I used an old bucket and a pot from a plant. I had to purchase some fittings to connect the water pump to the PVC pipe. And the sluice mat I got from ebay.
First I put holes in buckets and put them into a larger container for the water to flow through. Then I built the frame for the sluice box and cut the sluice mat in half. This will give me a 50 inch long by 6 inch wide sluice box. You can make yours any size you want.
I wanted mine longer to catch the black sand as well as the gold because I want to keep the black sand for projects I have planned.
Next I put together the plumbing and then built a base for the sluice box. I made it portable and easily adjustable.
It is working quite well. I am very happy with the results.

That 12 inch one wont help anyone really. Not sure if I will ever find a use for mine. I am going to experiment with it one day with a tiny water pump and see if it can clean gold from black sand at least.

@@sunflower9797 sunflower 🌻 do you have children or make videos? Troy spoke to his daughter very nicely giving her the reason she needed to be quiet and also why he couldn’t answer her. This interaction with his daughter is one of the reasons she is such a nice and pleasant child. Parenting is a tough job that doesn’t come with instructions. We are also only seeing a very small portion of Troys life and from what I have seen I feel Troy and his wife are doing a fantastic job raising their child.

For my larger one I am going to use a small gas powered pump. You will probably need about 2,000 gph. More is always better because you can adjust the flow as needed to get the right results.

Hi, no I cannot afford to have them tested. But when you look very closely under a magnifying glass, you can clearly see it is gold. You can see the indentations and how it has been flattened under wear. Pyrite will crush and shatter instead.
