My new snuffer is a clear ketchup container from a restaurant supply and I used a 3/16" brass tube. Love it.

Good deal man! That was awesome to watch you sweep that table ad have gold suddenly appear. I played a joke on my nephew using that portion of the video. Said that you had invented a new brush that could sweep gold powder from sea water. We forgot to tell him we were picking, and on the last day of their beach trip, my sister called and said Hunter had packed 10-28oz Gatorade bottle of beach water because Uncle J was going to get him a brush to make gold! I’ve got about 4hours and 15mins to invent a gold powder sweeping brush. Think I see some god eyeshadow and fine glitter in the near future!

Being mechanically inclined has its advantages... being in construction also has its advantages to get material almost free...left over material and alittle know how you're winning!

I do alot of medical facilities, most have exhaust sytems in their labs that are made of aluminum or stainless ductwork there's always some left over 3', 4' lengths, 8,10,12" wide, usually they'll be 8x8 10x10 12x12 and so on, then whats left just gets trashed.... yep trashed alright right into the bed of my pickup. lol 😆 buy a mat and you're livin! I'll have a free highbanker by summers end! And maybe some sluice boxes to sell to my peeps very cheaply might I add! Lol

I am always amazed watching your videos . They are always very well put together , I do have a question about your miller table and that is can you post a video on how you built the miller table that you use . I would really appreciate that..
@UtmostOutdoors Жыл бұрын
If I ever build another one I'll film it and show the full build for you. Basically you just need a perfectly flat surface, and a way to spread out the water...

With the direction of folding , are you saying if you fold with the cut inside the sluice , that the edges will butt against each other preventing the full 90 degree bend ?
@UtmostOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
That is correct. It's more important with thicker material, but also just leaves the nice clean edge on the inside so that the gold has nowhere to get stuck.
@mohammednovalija3 жыл бұрын
There is a mat we call "V RIB" - is often used early in a river sluice to assist as an indicator of the presence of gold. I find it very useful in a clean up sluice - You may wanna get yourself a piece and try it Catches very little nonsense yet still catches lots of gold

How exactly did you say how to build the header box from wood?
@UtmostOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I'm not exactly sure how to shape the perfect header box, but when working with wood I would just recommend you coat it with something that will keep it from swelling up and breaking down. Don't worry too much about sealing it all if you are able to dry it out between each use, but I would recommend thinning the sealer you use for the first coat so that it soaks into the grains of the wood and then it will keep protecting it even when the surface layer wears off.

Nice surprise Kyle! Do you ever snuffer up gold right from your auto feeder ABS pipe? Looks like it gets clean enough to do so.
@UtmostOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
I usually just wait until the next step and let the sluice do it's work. But that's a good Idea, maybe I'll try!

Did you make the Miller table?
@UtmostOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I did. I bought the green hobby cutting mat from micheals art supply store, and set it on a sealed piece of plywood. The key is setting the slope just right and using some jet dry in the water.
