3:00 if that works, then theoretically speaking, could you not take to boards, clamped together, with tabs down both sides? also, if you're doing sleaves and the like, you could bend a piece of cardboard around your arm to the right size, and link enough tabs to cover the cardboard for easy measurements.
@MarksWorkshopcrft Жыл бұрын
Yes you could double them up it just takes longer. I was only willing to do one layer for the time I had which was till Halloween that ear. I also made shoulder pads to break the angle between my shoulder to connect the tunic to the sleeves.

This is awesome! Out of curiosity, what is the reason for bending the tabs?
@MarksWorkshopcrft2 ай бұрын
Great question the answer to that is if you don’t bend them, then the flexibility just does not exist. As a matter fact, I doubted the purpose of bending them as well and then I tried linking them together flat and the chain mail affect just did not work. link a bunch of flat tabs together they will not bend or they’ll only bend in one way, I tried.

Thank you for the video and the tips! I am working on one, and REALLY struggling on keeping the tabs together! How do you best recommend dealing them so it doesn’t fall apart?
@MarksWorkshopcrft Жыл бұрын
Make sure you close the gaps of the tabs a little extra so they kinda overlap and maintain that same process every time you use your mail. That should help it did with mine and remember soda tab chain mail is mostly decorative and I only use it for quick shots but if you want Chainmail, it doesn’t fall apart, probably suggest getting a Mail maker to make you steel mail
