I have a shawl with a lot of colors in it, they are all more muted colors. I love them all and love them together and I’ve begun using the shawl as a guide for choosing color. If the new item will “go with” the shawl, it’s in! Because I know it will work with everything else!

The way I added color in my project 333 capsule wardrobe is I kept the bottoms, outwear, shoes and bags, tee shirts neutral. Then I added different color sweaters and scarves that go well together with my neutrals this way everything goes with everything without feeling bored or restricted and this way when I need to add new items it wouldn't be difficult to match with rest of the closet.

I especially like the idea of using the colors from a scarf as a basis for an outfit. My scarves are in a box under the bed and tend to be more of an afterthought . Every once in awhile, I pull them out and admire the beautiful colors. Now I can use them as inspiration for styling an outfit! Great video.

Great way to “reinvent” your channel! Other fashion bloggers always do hauls and hauls... I always associated colors with lots of patterns. I’ve seen that colors are easier to combine than I thought! I would like capsule wardobes for different life styles. For example I’m a mom of two under three, and I feel like I never look put together. Other women work full time, and always feel unconfortable in their clothes because their office is very formal. So not styles like boho or modern or feminine, but lifestyles

As long as you choose a couple of neutrals and 3-4 colours to match, with some prints, you can wear it all. I have black, white and grey as my neutrals and then various shades of red, orange and yellow with a couple of items of another colour to match with the neutrals and as most of my neutrals are patterned and of course some of my colours, I can create a colourful fun capsule wardrobe very easily

Our timeless colours should be not just be the ones we love or are regularly in fashion, but the ones that really suit us, make us look good, fresh and healthy and make us feel that we are looking our best. (Versus the ones that we love as colours, but but make us look tired, drained or even a little sick). Just my humble opinion :)

@@Foundlilly11 same. Also minimalist wardrobe does not necessarily mean neutral tones only. It means you have a few clothes that you can easily combine. I appreciate the amount of hard work you put into this video, Signe! One thing I love about fashion/style in general is that you can gain inspiration from anywhere. From what you've shown, I've come to realize that each of my capsules are similar to what you showcased in the first capsule, but with two or three extra pops of color. So based on that, I'd say my favorite colors are light, dark-washed or navy blue, mustard yellow, burnt orange and burgundy. TFS!

I do a small season capsule and generally have 3 colors for each. Black white red for winter, grey white and plum for fall, spring is a bit all over the place right now with yellow, green, navy and a bit of grey, and then black white and hot pink/magenta for summer. If you're hesitant about color just introduce a bit at a time. From doing this I have learned about what colors and patterns I feel good in, how much I value texture in my clothing, and in what style I feel most comfortable. So I follow what I enjoy versus what is trending (as it will likely be gone in a season or year anyway). Also, it helps manage what I buy throughout the year. I tend to stay away from things that don't fit my color scheme and it keeps my wardrobe very cohesive.

I have a lot of different colours in my wardrobe and I just go by instinct and what I think looks nice together. I don't wear too many colours at once because I feel that can look a bit garish. The colour I find that goes well with many non-neutral colours is khaki green, I can wear many different colours with that.

I love colours, but I often go for muted, shaded or tinted colours... I have a lot of blues, burgundies, cool reds and cool pinks, cool green (pine or sage) and I fill in the gaps with whites and creams and sometimes a touch of black for easy combinations. Blues are the basic colour in my wardrobe tho... I don't ever do beige, brown, orange, corals or purples... they just don't suit me. I do wear yellows sometimes but it has to be a very specific yellow (soft and cool) and I tend to keep that for the spring/summer months.

One easy way of knowing that colours will work well together is to consider your own colouring. I'm a (very) Light Summer, and so long as I stick to the appropriate colour palate, the colours will combine well together, then it's just a matter of balancing the colours within each outfit (dark, medium, light, textures).

After exploring color theory check out Justin Leconte's video about the right colors for your personality. Typically, combine at most only three colors besides whites and blacks. Tones or shades go from light to dark typically from top to bottom. Hues or colors go from lightest in early Jan to darkest in late Fall seasonally. Neutrals and grey tones are more subdued and attract less light, less attention, and show smudges the least. Bright colors (jewel tones) and bold colors (reds and yellows) are loud and will get a lot more attention ⚠ so wear them confidently. Soft colors are easy on the eyes and allows one to have a quieter personality. One bold accent color does make the difference and maybe you can go with what you already own.

Reds especially, greens, some yellow, some, blue, salmon, ... mostly warm colors as they suit me better, but not exclusively - I don't have a capsule wardrobe, more like a curated one. I've noticed, that I tend to like outfits like in your 2nd capsule on other people, but whenever I try to put them together, it is too much on me. Actually the three primary colors (in physical matter) are magenta, cyan blue and yellow. Red is only a primary color in the light/energy realm. When taking about pigments (matter) red is a secondary color: 50/50 mix of yellow and magenta. Please, keep in mind that when mixing colors because in clothes (matter) magenta is complementary to green and cyan blue is the complementary one to red, that's why pink and green usually go so well together.
