Now she's decided that I want a curbless walk-in shower! Now I'm hoping you would be so kind as to assist me in this endeavor? Wish I had this a year ago! I used the trudeck arc system which is similar. I’m a dyier in Cleveland. The carpenters tips are great. What about the rest of the subfloor being level? Did you use self leveling? That’s the problem I had. I ended up jus t using vinyl for the floor and using a transition strip to the shower pan. I didn’t want to install the tile on a uneven subfloor. The pan I got exactly level. . Not exactly no curb but still pretty good and solid

My laundry area will be build on the second floor and I want to have a protection system in case of a water accident.... Would a VIM shower base work under or near the washer and dryer? IF they are a stacked unit, would the weight of the stacked Washer/Dryer be too much on the VIM materials and ceramic tile? Anyone?? I sent the question to VIM but they never reply?

The beveled edge of the caulkless gasket goes down into the matching beveled PVC cup! Then the square threaded ring gets tightened down to squeeze & expand the rubber against the pipe & cup drain.

But if water leaks, it will not go in the drain, so, what is the point of this?
@etile540 Жыл бұрын
Cutting the factory edges going in towards the drain may be necessary for the tray to fit into your shower floor dimension. The problem I see in doing this is that you create a "smiley face" shaped edge instead of having that nice flat, level edge. Your wall tile cuts at the floor will have to be curved to shape that "smiley face" also. This needs to be remedied

@HomeRepairTutor5 жыл бұрын
the point wasn't to emphasize the shower draining to a 3" or 4" pipe, it's that the drain cover is larger than typical covers. Plumbing codes require certain size pipes, so most people are constrained by that. As far as the used car salesman, you're implying we somehow deceived people. That's simply not the case, we do our best to explain what we like about different systems. And if you notice, we discuss many shower systems from Schluter, Wedi, KBRS, VIM, etc. Education is important and since we don't make shower systems we try to share all the different ones so people can then decide which is best for them.
