@Michael It's just a way of creating tone, adding description, making rhythmic pauses to emphasize what you're about to say, etc. Imagining a pause: You're like...naturally funny. Clearly it would sound different if I just said "You're naturally funny." I'm not into sounding dry and robotic when I compliment someone. "Like your delivery and timing" indicates I'm simply elaborating what I mean by 'naturally funny.' Here's another example: Going through the effort to call someone 5 over something so trivial is like......ironically immature.

I'm going to be living in two places, Arizona and Washington state and I think I'll use your suggestions for a workstation when I move to Washington. I would suggest that you might consider using a plugged in keyboard/mouse instead of a battery powered one. Having your batteries die in the middle of a trade could be tragic. Another suggestion is perhaps a stand-up desk? I find that it keeps my energy up better and helps me to relax a bit less, keeping me more alert. Thanks, again, HT!

You don't need a high-end graphics card for multiple monitors. The NVS Quadro series was built for trading and they are cheap as well. Think or Swim is Single threaded, so your only using a single core out of those 8 for it. My setup: Dell Optiplex 7020 SFF, i7-4785T, 32 GB of RAM (The more ram you give Think or Swim the better it runs) 1 x Quadro NVS 510, 1 x Quadro P400, 9 x 23in Dell LED monitors. That's a good setup to start with but I would change a few things as noted below: WHAT'S GREAT HERE: - The monitors and monitor stand! - The cooling system - Price (its a good entry point) - Backup power supply (in case there is a power outage) - Redundant internet lines! WHAT I WOULD CHANGE: - The processor is fine in terms of performance even though there are already newer and more powerful options BUT the Intel Core CPUs don't support ECC memory which is a must for a professional trader - 16GB of RAM is good to start with as long as you use Thinkorswim or similar low-key options (which are already quite good though!) but bear mind that 16GB is the absolute minimum you'll need for more heavy and high-end trading applications like Bloomberg! Bloomberg for example now even recommends having at least 32GB of RAM! So from my experience, 32GB should be the bare minimum as you'll likely be multitasking, and thus need more RAM than just the recommended number by your system provider. Plus should you move into algo trading you'll need even more memory. Also, I suggest getting ECC (Error Correcting Memory) memory since reliability is key in trading (you certainly don't like to see a BSOD while in the middle of a trade or even risk to place a wrong trade due to a flipped bit). - The graphics card is good but still, it's a consumer-/gaming/multimedia-focused card. Therefore I would rather opt for a Quadro card which is purpose made for professional applications and is way more reliable. MY OWN SETUP (yet look at what you need as my setup might be very different from what's perfect for you!): - Intel Xeon processor (supports ECC RAM and vPro) - 64 GB of ECC RAM - Nvidia Quadro T2000 - 2x 512GB of SSD storage - 3x 27" inch ThinkVision monitors

It’s a display card, but great for big work station real estates. My second PC, is identical, but it’s a 2600, also running the NVS 810 with 8 screen inputs to my desk. I tend to switch between the inputs, and not mess with the charts on the 3800X. It’s stable. I run a proprietary algo which ranks trends and picks off the bottoms.
