Even though the elbows look nice but it seems the feed drops to the ground. Is feed from the ground good for the chicken?

Of course, how do I think they free range on pasture…they peck around eating weeds, grass and lots of bugs. But the elbows actually prevent spillage and scratching.

Pretty cool, but I see feed waste. That is an eternal problem, it attracts other little birds and disrupts the peace of the chickens. My 4 Rhode Island whites got a bird who got inside the coop by accident and paid the ultimate price, they devoured the poor bird.
