How does layout work when your building a dormer roof meaning your 400 or 600 mill centres when your using 2 to 3 rafters side by side for side cheek walls

We match the centers of existing so if it’s truss roofs 600 and cut roof 400. But with the tripples or doubles at end it just makes centers smaller.

They are fixed to the top of the trusses and then bridged in between

This is what I want for house I've just bought. The only downside is the rear roof is bang south facing so wanted to fill with solar panels. What's a rough ballpark figure for this type of dormer? Also if I was to have on front of my house I'm not sure on the wait for planning permission.

£23k and you don’t always need planning permission. Check with your local authority.

It all depends on the structure needed. But in most case dormers are upwards of £45k but I think of top head this was a 60k build but had large chunk of budget on big velux windows.
