Nice work Leon! I was kinda worried about interference from the power transmitter, but I'm glad to see you got it working. Have you considered using a much larger/more powerful transmitter (maybe a Tesla coil, if it doesn't cause too much interference) to transmit power far enough to fly the drone for longer distances?
@Teslaundmehr2 жыл бұрын
Hey Zack! The remote control send on round about 2,4GHz. So that is not a problem. But when we use a Teslacoil as a Transmitter, than it could be a Problem,, especially when we use a Spark Gap coil haha :D

This is awesome! Of course the interesting things happen when you don't have the camera running, haha. Now that you don't have the controller, I wonder if you could get some level of "self stabilizing control" back by using a separate transmitting and receiving coil for each individual motor. As it moved up and down each motor would kind of self regulate because it would move farther and closer from its transmitting coil. You would need 4x the circuitry though, so that might get too heavy. This was really fun though, looking forward to what's next!
@Teslaundmehr2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!! I'm glad that you enjoyed the video! That is actually a pretty cool idea! But I'm not sure if the 4 Transmitters will influence each other...Would be interesting to test it!
@CoilLabs2 жыл бұрын
@@Teslaundmehr Yeah maybe you would only need 4 receivers and could still have a single, large transmitter. Still have the weight problem of 4x the circuitry on the drone though, so that may still be impractical.

@@Teslaundmehr it may be but with a zvs powered tesla coil you can adjust the power level but the frequency you choose would made the difference probably. Know when I was playing with this never tried a bipolar and any higher than about 350khz zvs didn't like it. It's great your playing with this concept, I had alot of fun playing with this transmission of power want to get back to this some time in the future believe there is alot of can improve especially seeing your video⚡⚡ my best so far is 26% efficiency at just over 5 feet and the receiver coil was picking up 14v at 2amps.

If you used a voltage regulator, why the dron died? So amazing and interesting proyect. try the main rotor structure of a 3 channel toy helicopter. those setups resist change, making them stable in the air without the need of a flight controller(except for the yaw, but wiring the motors in parallel should allow them to spin at the same speed, yaw is probably not a problem)

What would happen if you pulse the coil you have around the quad at 7.83 Hz, with as many Amps you can muster? 7.83 Hz is the Earth's resonant frequency. Would it lose or gain any weight without the motors attached? I wish I had the means and your setup to test that. Happy near year and thanks for your super interesting videos.
@Teslaundmehr2 жыл бұрын
This is an interesting concept I have thought about in past. The Problem would be to set the Resonance Frequency of the receiver so low. For that you need a big capacitance or a big coil (a lot of windings) to transmitt enough energy. But nevertheless the Schumann resonance is an amazing topic!

To go higher can you transmit more power farther with a bigger transmitting coil and hang the power receiver circuit and coil down below the drone? Would a bifilar coil improve performance? A bifilar coil has much more capacitance than the spiderweb coil if that's why you used the spiderweb coil. And didn't Tesla patent a bifilar coil?
@Teslaundmehr2 жыл бұрын
Hey, great Idea! I think I need a different transmitter, higher frequency and so an. I dont now much about bifilar coils, I will do some research! Thank you!
@michaelcre82 жыл бұрын
@@Teslaundmehr If you make a much bigger coil then the drone will be inside it while it's flying. If a bifilar coil doesn't increase the power transmission maybe a second coil inside the first one would.

This sort of issue was reported over a decade ago. In recent years EXTERNAL protection was added but i regret it's still just not integrated INSIDE the power loop itself. So please consider reading Allegro's datasheet on their responsive (MHz) ACS733 hall-based current-monitor which happens to be featured with an on-chip analog-programmable comparator: e.g. possibly an improved alternative to the usual cross-connected diodes... 2 units would be expected in Mazzilli's "Center-Tap" topology.

I've wondered how light can get a not wireless powered by a microwave oven literally design similar to the "Can a microwave power a plane? - Bang Goes The Theory - BBC One" KZbin video. I've wondered about using lighter foil, foam or a lighter frame that's maybe not a foam styrene... though I'm thinking whatever is lightest and strong enough to be the antenna and parts of the actual drone. Wondered what an inductive mathematical analysis would determine as well. Maybe fractal antenna design or something a little wider band with polarity consideration also in the antenna design. Spiral conical if not a foil on foam fractal... maybe even mesh so like a polymer with the foil embedded in thin sheet rolled to get more of the penetrating photonic energy a well for being the structure?
