Dave, I remember asking you how to do the hidden drawer and you wouldn't tell me as you said it would cut into your profit making. I saw a clip by Alex of Bandsaw Life that he shows us how to do it. Sorry you felt you couldn't help a fellow woodworker.

My wife requested that the outside of the Rolling pin be wider. This is to aid in the dough once rolled out is even as opposed to flatter on the edges.
@jackconklin63576 жыл бұрын
Awesome pins. How do you build the jig for the angled cuts? I’m excited to build some of these out of my scrap bin. Thank you and God bless you sir.
@designerwoods6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jack I didn't make the jig myself. It was made by the good friend that showed me how to make the rolling pins. But I think I can show you how to make one. It is made from a piece of 3/4" MDF, with a piece of oak cut to fit the miter slot in your table saw attached to the bottom of the jig. This will keep the jig parallel to the saw blade. The notch in the MDF is cut at a 90 degree angle. Then the board to fit the miter slot as attached to the bottom at an angle that will determine the length of your cut across the block. The sharper the angle, the shorter the cut will be. On my jig, the board is attached at a 72 degree angle. Make the handle big enough so you can hold the jig securely and have room to clamp the block to the jig. Good luck Dave PS - Send me your e-mail and I'll send you some pictures that may help you see how the jig is put together.

Great vid, please use a push stick, I cringed every time you angle cut the blank. That left thumb....was definitely in jeopardy. What is the dimensions of the blank ? Great work!!

+Keo's Best Thanks for watching out for me. I make the blank 2 1/2" by 2 1/2" by about 20".

How would you make a RB where the handles roll/not attached to the main bin?
@chuckayres04287 жыл бұрын
Can you use a rolling pin where you have glued numerous pieces of wood, or are they just for decoration?
@designerwoods7 жыл бұрын
I've given them to all the ladies in my family and they use the regularly. They work great. Thanks for asking Dave
@r5yamaha Жыл бұрын
Do you have a solution where the handles are not connected to the pn? This way the pin rolls while the handle stays fixed in your hand.

So what are the dimensions? 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x how long? and what's the finished diameter of the pin in the end? Thank you
@designerwoods7 жыл бұрын
Depending on the wood I have, I make the diameter 2 1/2" to 3". The overall length is 19 to 20" And the roller part at about 13"

When you can’t tilt your blade to make angle cut to trim corners of work piece for turning or simply don’t want to take time to do so a simple sled can be made to support the work piece. Take a leinght
@Sillyturner4 жыл бұрын
Sorry sent before completed. Take a piece of material of suitable length and width and make a saw kerf 1/8” deep in the exact center lengthwise of the material. Take two boards of equal with and glue them to the edges parallel to the center kerf of the first board. Note: these two boards must be of proper height so that when you place your stock to trim in it, placing a corner in the saw kerf the adjacent side will both be in contact. This will hold the stock at a 45 degree angle in relation to your saw table. Place a stop at the end of the sled
@Sillyturner4 жыл бұрын
Further reply. You only need to use this sled for the first cut. After that you have a flat reference for the balance of the cuts. Another alternate to this sled is to make a v block sled.
