If you layer glass with a plastic like poly-carbonate and glue them together, you can make something similar (there's a few videos out there about this.) But there could be some fun experiments finding what materials make both the most clear, and the most durable homemade ballistic "glass" material.

I've built a working flame thrower before, but as the ignition source I made two electrodes that arc over the gas field (Instead of using a propane igniter). The electrodes (and its wires) were attached to a gutted out taser, so all you would have to do is trigger the taser, and it would ignite the gas!!!

Could you try to accelerate the cooling of the nitrate crystals using liquid nitrogen?

The problem with that is that big crystals take a long time to cool by design. For example, granite with a fine grain is granite that cooled over a very short period of time, while granite with a lot of large crystals has cooled over a much longer period of time. Neat idea, but the crystals would probably end up as more of a powder than large crystals. Hope this helps!

Hey Grant, what would happen if you got some more of that Chinese firework fuse, turn it into a rope again but made it thicker, doused it in napalm or any other extremely flammable liquid, and covered in thermite? If you do this make sure to light it with a sparkler attached to a very long pole.
