the solar panels should be on a highest point of your base to maximize the input. place the trash can next to the water filtration so you can throw the salt away.

I build bases like: Multipurpose room with tons of storage, fabs, recyclotron, charger, jukebox, 2 growbeds, etc. and a Bioreactor, connected to a scanner room with some more storage.

While transferring your base, make sure to compact items like titanium in ingots and quartz in glass or copper into wire. You save up on a ton of space. Then once transported, u can store it as such and deconstruct using a recyclotron to get whatever components you need
