Another lovely material, again so close to my heart and experience! We've just visited Sozopol last month with my wife - my best friend for good 30 years now, 27 years together (our little baby daughter is over 23 yrs old now), and still going strong, weathering the life's adversities and pretty much taking turns in being the strong one when the other has a bad time. Thanks so much for posting this (lots of familiar places, still fresh in our minds) and looking forward to watching more! All the best to your lovely family 🥰!

Glad to hear about experiences like yours! 30 years together...wow. not many have this luck I think. Wish you at least as much more 😁 Sozopol is lovely even off-season, isn't it?

@@annasan thanks so much! Yes, that's pretty much the only time I would visit any resort - off-season is great in warmer countries. The weather is still quite mild, sometimes really warm through October/mid-November, plus there are no more crowds anywhere (I can't stand them for more than a day), and the prices get back to reasonable. Also, it somehow gives me warm feelings to observe the place gradually shut down, extinguishing its feverish hustle and bustle, coming back to a more natural, easy rhythm, with a slightly melancholic, bittersweet tinge to it. Something very precious from my childhood seems awake in me then (being a child of 1970s growing up in the late communist Poland, I guess it's a bit of a time machine for me). Also, mountains around that area (Strandzha) are really, really beautiful in late Autumn (my favorite time of the year) with the full palette of rich yellow/orange/red colours all around. Hiking is also great then - the trails are basically empty and you have all these beautiful surroundings almost entirely to yourself! Last month I did ca. 120 km hiking around Strandzha in 4 days and it's been a real highlight of the second half of this year! Being based in a rural, pretty much traditional setting, added a lot to that, big time!

Oh I miss hiking so much...can't wait till my daughter is a bit older to hike with the family. I never hiked in Bulgaria yet but I did once in Polish Tatras, we climbed Rysy - it was very beautiful there!

@@annasan living in Bulgaria you really can't be better off with all these beautiful, still largely unspoiled mountains over there - a real gem on an European scale, I'd say. Bulgaria-wise, I've already had the delight of visiting/hiking the Pirin range, Rhodopes, Vratsa and Strandzha. Already planning to explore Central Balkan (around Botev peak) next spring, but I know I'll never have enough - a compulsive, pathological wanderer am I, like that Snufkin character from the Moomins :) Rysy is more of an Alpine type of a hike - my preference was always middle-size, forest-clad mountains, where you can wander for hundreds of kilometers without much of a break (like Carpathian mountains I've grown close to (Beskidy) or Sudety - more further west). I don't get many of these types of mountains where I live now (Western Ireland - so beautiful in its own right) so I often travel back to places like Bulgaria, Romania and Poland to reconnect with my childhood experiences, as much as my leave at work allows :).

@@annasanmaybe you should some day visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disney while traveling as well, 😂 this is how my husband finally made me watch several subsequent episodes afterwards, from the start to the end, without giving up after first 20 minutes as it had always been the case before. 😅 Not that I've ever disliked it, I even had my fav characters all these years, - R2D2 and Darth Vader, :)) but it wasn't much relevant to my interests back then. 😅 Yet in that park I've even bought an overpriced hoodie (totally not me as a tourist 😂) with R2D2 serving blue milk on Tatooine. :) P.S. Speaking of relationship, yes, it is definitely not about watching Star Wars together, :) regardless of understandable husbands' disagreement. 🤭 ;) Mine hasn't made any reciprocal sacrifice yet btw. 😂
