That ring looks sick. I love it. I think the IFW is going to be useing this as our next ring. & you say it hurts. Try landing on your back off a 12 foot ladder onto the ground. The Ring is gonna feel like a fluffy pillow to us. Check us out. We love it

If it is a 16x16 ring, you should connect the 2x4's with hinges so it flexes more in the center so the tires help take more impact, it worked for us. Also, if you put the tires vertical instead of horizontal in sets of 2 or 3 (drill holes in the tires and just use a nut, bolt, and washers at two points so they dont wiggle apart) we found it helps a lot with the give. Good luck to you man, keep it up.

if you want a ring that DOESNT use tires, you need 2x6's for the frame and/or the deck support. i built one, and it supported A LOT of weight. for the deck support; take 2 of the framing boards, and nail/screw 2x4's on top of them, and then when you tip those 2x6's on their sides, the 2x4's will be like support rails for the deck boards, and then the plywood on top of that, and VOILA, nice, bouncy ring.

I made this ring for a friend, but I made a few alterations. 1. I sawed some of the tires in half. 2. I placed the wood posts on Christmas tree stands. 3. I tied sections of rope around the posts under the ring. 4. I used the turnbuckles to hold some chainlink to connect the ropes. 5. I taped the ropes to color with electrical tape. 6. I taped foam sheets over the end of the chainlink.

hey i'm building my ring next weekend. Yours looks awesome btw and thx alot for putting up this video. I was wondering what kind of rope did you use? And is it strong enough to go to the top rope and do moves?

you can also out mattresses down under thee tires to help take thee bump some of my friends didnt like taking the fall so we added the old mattresses so it doesnt hurt as much

that is a cool backyard ring,probably stiff as hell,I have a ring alot like the highspots one, but prior to that i've went through 2 wood rings the 2nd one like one from the dark ages called the barbarian....good times
@gcmsboy123414 жыл бұрын
@nickmatt2 the professional "ropes" used on wwe and most rings are airline cable (steel) with a rubber hose over top and tape. It actually can hurt to run and are very stiff.
@gcmsboy123414 жыл бұрын
@DrummerBoy189 Okay. The tires you get dont need to have the rim or the inter tube in them. Just the rubber part on the outside
@gcmsboy123413 жыл бұрын
@TheSuperTenor Thank You for your input. Anything else you would like to add? I know this is a random video you found and you haven't looked at any of my other videos. But we have moved from the backyard to the real wrestling world, and travel around the state. With real workers, that have appeared on tna, ecw, and raw. If you have the time, or interest, you could watch those videos. About the rope being to high?, well it seemed to work out just fine for our needs. But im sure you could do beter
@gcmsboy123412 жыл бұрын
This is what i had the money for. And its not the padding that makes it safe, its the way you take your bumps. I was in the wrestling business for a couple years ( this video was one of my first wrestling videos) and the padding was only about half a inch thick and it was hard not soft. It hurt to hit your hands on it. If it was soft you would be able to see people sink in when they hit it or stand on it but you don't. I also know what a wrestling ring is made of because i set one up for years.
@sstrunks800015 жыл бұрын
Although not soft, a wrestling is supposed to spring quite a bit and I dont see any spring when yall slam each other in your other vids. This makes me wonder if you attached anything above the tires to the 2nd higher frame that you built instead of keeping a "floating" platform that is totally unattached from the frame. Is this so?

The bottom of it is very well done, Impressed by that, but would the turnbuckles not become loose over time? It doesn't seem like they have anything to keep them in. I know they screw in but over time, if enough tension is created, it will come out. Just an observation. I'm still rating this video well though. :)
@beerholder4315 жыл бұрын
At any point do you attach the 2x4's to the frame or the plywood to the 2x4's? Or does it just lay on top of the tires?
@gcmsboy123414 жыл бұрын
@SantaDog what do you mean by that. I dont wrestle anymore but when i did it was just in 3 different citys and sometimes different shows?
@efwrestling114 жыл бұрын
how deep do i make the holes and how long is the 2 by 4 and do u use steel cable for the ropes and how did u get all the tires
@vidguy8 жыл бұрын
all you needed to do, was get 2 more 2x4's for support along 2 sides, and use them for supporting the 2x4's for the flooring, and plywood

if you have done the wooden poal thing under the ring and than the grey thing (sorry im form belgium and i dont undeastand evryting but the most) can you put a soft mat under it?
@GARRETTMATT4012 жыл бұрын
At about 0:56 when you put the 2"4s on the tires, do you nail them to the top frame or just leave them detatched?
@gcmsboy123415 жыл бұрын
chain? That sounds expensive. What i should have done though is used metal turnbuckle post and hooked a steel cable and put rubber hose over that.
@markiejr83714 жыл бұрын
@gcmsboy1234 one more thing were did you buy those eyelits?
@gcmsboy123415 жыл бұрын
Hey. I know what im talking about and yes you can. Ropes used for wwe and most real wrestling rings arn't "stretchy" at all. There made out of airline cable. Or steel cable. They dont stretch at all and hurt your back when you hit them. So yeah you can bounce off of these ropes.
@gcmsboy123415 жыл бұрын
a wrestling ring isnt soft at all. And where do you train whats your trainers name and tell me the reversal que for a arm wrench, hammer lock etc
@aidend199315 жыл бұрын
so the wooden beams rest on top of the tyres then you drill them in to the frame?
@markiejr83714 жыл бұрын
@gcmsboy1234 you think when i build a ring i could just but tires in the middle instead of all those tires u think it would be enough support??
@kofikingston96ken14 жыл бұрын
nice ring
@gcmsboy123414 жыл бұрын
@ps3tna . if we did that the boards would break. Dont say they wouldnt because they did with the 2 by 4's up there. And it doesnt matter about the stiffness. Because either way the real wrestling rings i have been on hurt more than this. Its more about the padding than the spring it has.
@gcmsboy123416 жыл бұрын
Hey the pvc foam padding comes from a hardware store and thats all i really know
@readybeeill15 жыл бұрын
the bottom rope looks too high off the mat. but for backyard rings its one of the better ones i have seen on here. The tires just act as a replacement that the metal frame on a legit ring would do.
@gcmsboy123416 жыл бұрын
well.... The tires are what allow spring to happen without the boards breaking. Without the tires the boards would completly break. But. If you really want to build a ring. You could make it like i said and use steel for the frame. And put steel where the 2 by 4's are and then you wouldent need tires. But its probley cheaper and eayser this way.
@gcmsboy123413 жыл бұрын
@Huracankpo2 Thank you for your support! :D But in all honesty, before I quit wrestling and anything to do with it, I was trained. Now I know your thinking, "hes just saying that". But my new videos show proof. Its me traveling around the state wrestling with real workers, and getting payed at that. I'm not going to bash you for your stupidity on my subject. But I'm informing you of your mistake. That I in fact, have the knowledge needed to "Try This At Home".
@gcmsboy123414 жыл бұрын
@nickmatt2 actually. I did wrestle in a indy wrestling promotion. If you would have watched my new videos you would know. And there is nothing to make them bounce its all about how tight the ropes are. There is no elastic or any other thing to make them bounce its just the tightness.
@bjdtekins14 жыл бұрын

as does the rope to the ring? is that it is the only thing I need to complete the ring. if you please help with that
@efwrestling114 жыл бұрын
thats kool but if i put real ropes can i bounce of them because of the wood posts
@gcmsboy123413 жыл бұрын
@XDJxLLAMAxBEATSx32 I'm not sure where your from? But thats ply wood. Or if you want to get technical: Compressed Particle Board. Its all the same thing, Its all made out of wood clippings compressed. And considering we had 3 ply "PLY WOOD" I would think that would be the appropriate name for the wood. Good try at trying to point out some flaw that doesn't exist though.
@gcmsboy123416 жыл бұрын
uh i dont remember exzactly. it all depends on the legnth of the ring and the ammount of spring you want. but i would get enogh to put together because i have had so many problems with this ring so far.
@dansretrogamingandwrestling11 жыл бұрын
actually sir the padding on both TNA, and WWE rings is high density 1/2 padding purchased from mike samples, of monster rings and cages
@briansantella402211 жыл бұрын
if its single padded yes but there normally double padded like tna is cause you can tell its softer than a wwe ring by looking at them walk on it its cause a spring and the double padding wwes is just single padded with no springs underneath
@gcmsboy123416 жыл бұрын
new ones do . wen u use tires ur just using the rubber part not the rim..i got mine from a place that sells tires and got old ones for free. but if tires are completly out of the picture u could use some type of spring
@gcmsboy123415 жыл бұрын
yeah they are for somthing. Without the tires the two by fours would break. No lie. They still break when there on the tires. So the tires do serve a pourpus.
@gcmsboy123414 жыл бұрын
@FutureWHC Let me put it like this. It feels better than a real ring. If you build it like i did.But if you just wana have fun and screw around put like 3 layers of carpet. But that would eliminate any bounce the ring had. Dont listen to anyone who says that real rings dont hurt. Because they do.

GCMSboy1234, can this be scaled down? We're having a WWE wedding and we thought it would be cool to get married in a wrestling ring. Like we could probably just skip the tires since no one will be actually wrestling on it. If so, what would the dimensions be? We would just need enough room for the officiant, me, and Jeff to stand on it.

@cody1800212. Yeah. Well its like this. The padding on a real wrestling ring isnt really padding. Its so hard it hurts to hit your hand on it. The padding i use is real soft and doesnt hurt. A real wresting ring hurts.

Get back to me please would be awesome, Ta.
@ps3tna14 жыл бұрын
you know to give it less stiffness and more of a real ring feel if you didnt put the 2x4 across on that top frame just an outer frame the plywood on top of tires and then screw it down on the outer frame
@gcmsboy123414 жыл бұрын
@RatedRK0rton yeah they would be 200 dollars new.. But why would you use new tires. I used them from a junk yard

@gcmsboy123414 жыл бұрын
@SuperWhiteboy3 Okay. First off its a backyard ring. Second for the money it looks as close to a real ring as your going to get. Third it is basicly the same thing as a real ring. I used to set up and break down a real wrestling ring every friday for a couple of months when i wrestled in a real promotion. I know what im talking about.

what type of springs did you use onethe ropes
@gcmsboy123415 жыл бұрын
actually. Bunji cords wouldnt work. When i wrestled in a real federation they used actual steel cable with hose around it and tape. So yeah. Yeah i should have used metal posts but i didnt. I dont wrestle anymore though
@briansantella402212 жыл бұрын
ive been in a wwe tna ring and indy ring there at least 1 inch of padding and its realy soft the ways the ring is safe is cause the one flexi beam which goes under the 8 croos beams wich are under the wood planks the flexi beam is super strong flexible steal that bends a little wen u fall so it doesnt hurt that bad it still hurts but not as bad as you say
@gcmsboy123413 жыл бұрын
@JohnMWrestling i wouldnt try it. The tires are there so that the boards can have a little give but not enough so that they break. Without the tires there all the boards would break. If you use steel beams instead of 2 by fours then yeah it would be okay
@xFreestyleKingx14 жыл бұрын
wat kind of ropes can u use for the ring?
@gcmsboy123414 жыл бұрын
@AlexTheNightMareHawk . Yeah when i was actually in training i was at a 16 by 16 ring at practice and a 18 by 18 at the shows. The one at the shows was to stiff i liked the 16 foot one better
@aidend199315 жыл бұрын
No, it's tyres, google it. :) In your vid they arent attatched to the frame just resting there, could act as suspension somehow. Not sure, I'm really solid about building this so I want to get everything right.

Yeah, I have a lot of money put away for this, maybe not the space, and also, building this with wood would probably be a bad option for me, my friends that I wrestle with 1 of them is 6ft4 100kgs..i think the impact we would collectively cause could snap the wood
@gcmsboy123416 жыл бұрын
About 230$ for me. It could cost more or less depending on how much you get and where u get it at.
