Some galvanized hardware is only a coating. The stronger metal is exposed when cut and will rust. Spray cooking spray oil on the metal that's under the surface. It will block moisture.

Question please. I live in Central Florida and we do have hurricanes. Although my area near Tampa has never suffered badly from a hurricane. I have spoken to Growers Solutions and they recommend that I remove the plastic cover in case we have a hurricane warning. I just don’t want to have to do that because of the difficulty of taking off and putting back. This would be the only thing that would prevent me from building a greenhouse. I would appreciate very much your advice and comments on this

i just want to mention for those they dont know that with todays pressure treated wood its not just galvanized bolts its hot dipped galvanized bollts....the new presure treated lumber eats galvinize but not hot dip galvonize
@DeepSouthHomestead4 жыл бұрын

Fake galvanize is thin zinc electroplate, stops the rust for a short time only.

You dont use treated lumber here it will be eat by termites in less than 6 months. Plus the new treatment is done with copper.

I Don't know how it is in your area but whenever you build a greenhouse on top of the ground and not use any concrete as an anchor or foundation down in the soil the Local tax man can't claim it is a permanent building and raise your personal property taxes based on the total square footage inside. Up here in Maine, we have to leave the pipe ends up on top of the ground on treated boards that are anchored underneath where they can't see the anchors and we fill bunches of 5-gallon buckets with cement and anchor eye bolts to clamp heavy cables from the buckets to the frames so everything looks "Temporary". And best of all it keeps the greedy tax man's hands off of my maters...lol.

Danny, you missed a great opportunity to put at least 6 politicians to some good use. They aren't much in politics but they make great compost.........don't ya know!
@mday14164 жыл бұрын
Danny, it's obvious you have NO idea how to dig a post hole. YOU start at the bottom and dig up. That way the dirt is loose and takes only seconds to remove. See how easy that is? LOL Okay........serious now..........love your video!
@nathandunning71504 жыл бұрын
I don't want to be a critic whatsoever because I think you've done extremely well. But you beds could easily be wider. It just seems to be a lot of wasted space that's all.But I understand you have garden outside too so you probably have plenty of growing area anyway.
