me and my lifelong buddy are now business partners running our own little decor & property maintenance business. i'm a decorator by trade and he's a plasterer who also provides damp proofing services. between us we do dpc work, reinstating / plastering / basic joinery, skirts etc then re decorate. such a refreshing watch charlie to see a different trade at work. fascinates me what you and your crew do. big respect to you all.

Charlie, I salute your patients with the young trowels. Lovely to see a corner being built, I feel a lot of the skill is being lost because people aren't made to build corners anymore. As for the frames not matching the brickwork, we have been complaining about that for over forty years to my knowledge. You would think with computers they could have worked it out by now.

My grandfather was a mason for 60 years and he taught me to hit the level he was good.layed brick/block until he was over 70 because he was to stubborn to quit.

I made my own trowel mate ... got some Perspex and cut it to the same shape as my trowel, got some ct1 and glued a magnet onto the back then drilled a hole and cable tied a belt loop ... not the best but will do until the real thing is back in stock

Here's a little Tid Bit for you Charlie. After using the saw,take a nice swig of water. It'll wash away the dust from your throat and prevent soreness. Try it,it really does work.also wear a mask when making cuts.

Charlie can be a morale killer because every single time he comes over to check someone's work its never, ever right.I've never seen him say,oh wow,perfect, great job,keep it up....when you get corrected time and time again it totally kills morale.

🌀Does the bone dry block not flash dry the mortar, and turn it to powder ? We always kept the work wet, all day, and saturated it before leaving for the day.

Instead of laying 2 on your muck board to avoid splashing muck on finished brick work just stand an unused muck board up against the finished work on your muck table.that'd work much better mate.
