Shouldn't need to keep screwing the blade down on each block, just leave a few mill clearance so the block slides in and it should cut it.

ye noticed that too, should only adjust it acording to if its bricks or blocks, not on every block :) Thats what the big handle is for, actually "snapping" it

The blocks are made mostly out of Limestone, it's not a cancer causing thing but breathing in anything that's in a dusty,powdery form will plug up ones nose for a day or two,also it can cause a nosebleed too.

Andrew Palij is right - once yoou have set the gap for a particular size of block, ther should be no need to keep adjusting the blade height. If you tighten the screw any more it will cut the block without pulling the handle! The cutter that Changy uses looks so worn that the mechanism needs re-furbishing hence he has to adjust the screw each time he cuts a block!

My cutter doesn’t need tightening for block paving but I do have to tighten it each time when cutting softer blocks.

I've watched parts of 2 of his videos. I didn't see him actually cut any blocks,although his cutter was on the scaffold. I'll have a proper look at the weekend

Charlie I know you love your gloves. I’ve told Changy the same. Buy the Showa 370 gloves you won’t go back. They last and the feel you get is incredible! And also with the block cutter you don’t need to wind the handle in as much

You do have to screw them down on therm blocks or they don't cut, conc blocks you can leave a gap

Don't need a block splitter for lightweights but great for concretes, also why you keep adjusting the screw just need to adjust it now and again not all the time 👍

Do you need to keep adjusting the width of your block cutter? I thought you set it to size and then just use the handle?

Charlie, if the site agent wants you to do the sundries, but a price in and then see what he says. Every time your guys are doing extra work, your losing money. Might as well get paid for it to cover lost income.

mate did front or back dipping for 45 years, I'm 70 and do me hobby blacksmithing. all I have is elbow wrists and knees that have gone, a bit broke, greetings from Oz .

While your still young and healthy , might as well try to stay that way , this dust masks don’t stop you from breathing in all the particulates anyway, If you don’t know I’d do some research on Silica dust

In the summer I fill a spare muck tub with water and get the forklift to drop it, just make sure it ent got hole's in 🤣 and if there is spare one.

If done well, PnD is probably the best method. I lay and butter the on the wall, but you can’t beat the speed and efficiency of PnD. Ps. We call those cutters “little midgets”, but they only cut about 6 to 7 width.

I want to be a bricky but the local college to mine dont do brick laying courses for 20+year olds do you think if i do construction course i couls get into brick laying jobs that way?

You should have a drive around your local sites an have a word with the brickies on there see if they will take you on as a labourer an let you have a go when you get a head an then when you get good you can get an on site assessor to come out Join bricklaying jobs uk on Facebook aswell an put a post on there

I'm sure you agree but those movement joints look so wrong. The corners of any wall or building is its structural strong point which keeps the build rigid & square but in this scenario the walls are able to float away from each other. Don't get the theory behind this idea. This plot is very similar to previous ones where MJ is on the party wall. Weird. Luv ya all.
