How to Build A Hydroseeder For Under 400$

In this video build / Upgrade a Homemade DIY Hydro seeder mostly from things from Facebook Marketplace for under 400$. I found a Trash pump, ICB Tote, Some Old Sprayer parts. Couple that with some extra plumbing pieces that I had laying around from other projects and I could potentially start my own small Hydroseeding business!
I won't but, you could, and you could do it for as little as 400 bucks! Just take time and cruise Facebook this you scrounge up all the parts you need. Even if you do have to source some of sprayer things from the box store it will still be under 400 bucks.
The main valves are all 2 inch Banjo valves. They can be purchased online, but I found them cheaper at the local hardware store.
The Re-circulation Hoses are 1.25 inch hose.
Discharge hose is 1/25 sprayer hose.
with 1.25 inch banjo valve.
Main pump Inlet and output are 2 inch.

Thanks for the vid, and time it took to make it bud. Hydro seeding is expensive in Aus. I too am building one, so your tips and design have supported my back of a beer coaster design, and encouraged me by seeing yours actually work. Thanks and good job 👍

Could you eliminate the recirculation hoses/valve and just use the main hose pointed into the IBC to mix it up?

You probably could,but the hose builds a lot of pressure

What size hose is the mixing and discharge?

I'm going off of memory because everything is covered in snow, but I believe its 1 inch for the recirculation. I would oversize those to 2 inches if I did it again and just throttle on the valve. Also helps prevent clogs. I haven't had any clogs but I could see it would be possible and a PITA. The discharge is 2 inch. Throttle with a 1 inch output valve.

Do you have a video from making the trashcan one you used previously? I don't need one as big as your upgrade.

I do not. It did use the same motor, pump and agitators, The Hole was in the bottom instead of the side but everything else was the same. I used Bulk Head fitting for the pipes to go through the bottom and sides of the garbage can. The entire thing was actually build on top of an old Corn hole board. the garbage can was raised about 8 inches up on a small platform that I built and was held down by ratchet straps.

I've only ever done my own stuff and friends and family. Usually they pay for the seed/ mulch fertilizer and buy the beer.

What kind of nozzle do you use? I have fabricated my own machine and the spayer and nozzle designs. The nozzles i have designed are not working and i cant find one to buy for less than like $300

I ended up just taking a plastic 1 inch quick release coupler. I heated it up a little and just re-shaped it in the vice. so its about 1/4 ich wide gap by 3/4 ish now. works pretty good. Not perfect but works. If that didn't work I was going to get a Plastic cap and just cut a slot with a grinder
