How to build a IBC tote stand | Water for the piglets!!

We built a water stand for our IBC tote to water our hogs with. This could be scaled to fit your needs,bigger or smaller. It has works really well for us so far.

When full, that IBC is going to weigh 2300 lbs (275 x 8.34 lbs)! The wood stand was just put on ground, I think. So, I'm wondering, once it rains and the ground gets softer, are the wooden posts going to settle into the earth with all that weight on them? What was your experience now that it's been there awhile?

The stand holds the weight with no problem. I wouldn't be afraid to put a lot more weight on it. Down there where the pigs are is a wet spring, so it stays soft most of the time. I haven't noticed it sinking, but I thought I put 4" cap blocks under the posts.

Are you planning on painting the totes black to prevent algae buildup?

Just found your channel and looking for the same, how is it holding up?

It's doing great! If you have in a pasture with other livestock like goats or cows I would put some braces from top to bottom at 45°, my goats like to rub and scratch on it and they maid it lean a little, but strength wise I wouldn't be afraid to stack two totes on top of each other and fill them up.

Triangulation would help tremendously
