Nailed the establishing shots/zoom outs of HGTV shows. Also the looking slightly off-camera, talking head shot was a nice touch too.
@BrewCabin3 жыл бұрын
Ha! Thanks! You noticed all my research work. I bought Discovery Plus and literally spent a week immersed in HGTV shows while taking notes. All the shots were originally filmed on a tripod. I had to add camera shake in post to make it feel like there was a film crew there. The only stable shots are at the end for obvious reasons ;-)

It always happens this way...ya can't, until ya DO. The question is: was going to kegging life changing in the brewing game for you? Bonus question: Do you feel PRESSURE to keep such a large keezer fully stocked? Personally, kegging my beer was a game changer...but I don't want such a large keezer. It is a VERY NICE build though! Cheers!
@BrewCabin8 ай бұрын
I've been kegging for a very long time (since 2008). I hated bottling so much that it was the first upgrade I ever made to my brewing equipment. My friend had an old kegerator he gave to me. It was from the 80s with one tap. I used that thing until it eventually died.

Fun fact: Most (if not all) chest freezers only have electronics and mechanical equipment in the bottom corner where the cord goes in. Besides that, they're just big insulated boxes made of plastic and foam. Exception for things like lights / controls panels.

Did I fool you with the twin thing? LOL
@jackhandy72372 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt. I finally took the plunge and I am going to be building a keezer. I am at the point where I am going to be painting the chest freezer and I had 2 questions. First, the tools list says you’ll need 240 grit sandpaper but in the instructions its says to use 120 grit sandpaper. Which one did you use? My second question is about the plastic pieces. Did you sand the plastic pieces such as the handle and the hinge covers before painting them as well? I ask because I have a MagicChef and is has plastic hinge covers and an indent in the lid to use as a grip to lift the lid. But the indent isn't metal like the body of the freezer. It is covered with plastic. Do I just sand this part to and the plastic hinge covers with sandpaper Thanks in advance for the help!
@BrewCabin2 жыл бұрын
I used both grits. The rough one first, the lighter one second. I did not sand the plastic pieces but I should have. That said, I don't really touch them that often for the paint to rub or chip off. That's why I just opted not to sand them. I would sand anything you're painting that you plan on handling a lot.

@Matthias129 Жыл бұрын
This is the first video of yours I watched and I'm not gonna lie, the editing got me. I've watched so many creators that do the full body "duplication shots" (I don't remember the actual name for it and too lazy to look it up right now) that I've gotten pretty good at spotting them, and at the beginning I knew it was one of those. But the conversation between the brothers had a natural flow, I didn't spot any seams, and other indicators of that kind of shot that I brushed off the uncanny valley effect that surpassed even the possibility of being identical twins. Then I got absorbed into the building of the keezer, as that was why I was here after all, so the ending actually hit me pretty hard. Best instructional video leading to an existential crisis I've ever watched, rivalling some of Brian David Gilbert's videos!

Hey, can you explain how the expanding foam works in this instance compared to glue? Great videos (hope there is a song in every one).
@BrewCabin3 жыл бұрын
The expanding foam is a weather seal that keeps the cold air from escaping the freezer. But it also grips the collar to the top of the freeze so it doesn't slip around when you open the lid. The added facial board and lid add enough weight to compress the foam strip and keep the collar in place. And yes, there's a song in every one ;-)
