I love that idea, a win-win all around! No bending over.....yay! Get rid of all the other "goodies" ....👍, plus it is space saving for sure! Thank you plant ninja for another nifty idea‼️

Many of these keyhole gardens are 30 inches or more. I felt 20inches was high enough to make a difference

Could we get an update on how well your keyhole garden has done since it was established?
@theplantninja-texasgardener Жыл бұрын
Absolutely Christian, I’m so excited for this update request! I was thinking about filming a July update for landscape and garden tomorrow and uploading them as separate videos. If all goes well I should be able to post in the next day or two. Thanks for reaching out🙌

Thank you for the update! Your keyhole garden is gorgeous!! I have been dreaming of adding a keyhole garden (or two) to my 8b landscape. Your garden is the first proven success story I have found for this area. I'm so excited. Your update has encouraged me to move forward with my small garden fantasy.

This is an interesting idea…. Is the floor of the bed raised up in the middle as well to help drain things across to the edges?
@theplantninja-texasgardener2 жыл бұрын
Not in the one I built, BUT I did add a few rocks at the bottom of the central bin for that reason. I’ve seen so many variations on the design that I think you can really make it your own as long as you follow the basic principles. Did you make a shade canopy yet?

@@theplantninja-texasgardener not yet…it will be next spring over one of my raised planter beds. I will have some time to think about it :)

How did your garden do? The concrete stone one.
@theplantninja-texasgardener10 ай бұрын
It performed well. I often forgot to water it because it only needed watering 1-2 a week. Mine only had kale and got some afternoon shade and did well with that frequency. I imagine that would vary based on plant type and how much sun exposure.

You absolutely do not want to put dryer lint in your compost unless you are wearing 100% natural fibers. Why on earth would you put MORE microplastics into your food? Also, the cardboard youve used here is coated with plastic and PFAS as well, along with junk mail envelopes with plastic windows.
