I am exactly a regular old housewife lol. With kids that need this. I headed to Lowes and bought 6 - 2x8s for the base in pressure treated exterior wood and 5 cement foundation blocks to build on instead of sitting it right on the ground since we flood. I haven't got past this stage yet bc I need to get compactable gravel. Let me know how far you get.

I’m wanting to do an elevated cubby house. Any suggestions on what type of timber to use for the posts? I’m finding it hard to find H4 ACQ treated pine. I’ve been told to avoid CCA treated because of the arsenic. Thanks.
@jed20555 жыл бұрын
We bought the material and I helped the neighbour/builder to put it all together. We photographed the Bunnings model which was way over-priced and modified to suit our requirements - it turned out great. I like your veranda and the colour scheme Bill. Italians like to build - that's why we have Rome! I worked on the North Shore in Sydney and working as a liney and used to visit job sites of two Italian mates/chippies who pooled their resources and build really nice homes and sold them for a motza. They didn't just build quick n nasties though - everything they did was quality work. It's in the Italian dna ;-))

Hi again. I hope you dont mind my questions. At 5:25, the spare cuts of timber you used as chocks to provide extra support in attaching the roof pitch, what angle did you cut those. I understand that the roof pitch angle is 22.5 degrees. But the angle for the space where the roof meets the wall frame, I'm having a hard time figuring that out as my 22.5 degrees cuts did not fit that space perfectly like yours did. Please advise.
