It seems all the other "how I built this" videos are by people who have large shops loaded with expensive tools. I really appreciate how you did all the work using a small set of less expensive tools. Seriously, I had no idea I could use a guide and the circular saw I already have to rip plywood and make something furniture quality. Nice work.

Going a little back in time to watch this older video from 3 years ago. I’m surprised I’ve never seen it. Great build. I’m looking for inspiration for a free standing room divider for my studio. I smiled when you were singing along to a Christian song. A little tid bit that did not surprise me… but that I didn’t know before. Also smiled at 6:05 when you said “maybe one day” referring to getting a new shop. That day has finally come! I wonder if you saw how far you would come in just three years? And yet… I really like that you are the same person. Teaching the same things.

So happy you traveled back in time to watch! This is one of my all time favorite projects and I still love seeing it in my parents house when I visit. I only wish my video quality was better for this one 😅🙈 Also, I hope you enjoyed the clip of shop sounds haha. I love all kinds of music but the Christian station always hits a little different. And absolutely I had no idea what was in store for the next three years! I lost my job, took a leap of faith and dove into my business full time, moved houses, and learned a million things in the process. It’s been a wild ride, but I’m so glad you reminded me to look back because I didn’t even know I said that in this video! It’s been an incredibly humbling but fun journey and I always hope to keep things the same…simple, straightforward, and encouraging. Tell me if I ever start to veer from that! Haha…but I mean it. I hope this project gave you some ideas for your studio. I truly appreciate your kind words and this comment 💕

Hello Shara, I downloaded the plans for this entertainment center and I built it but painted it a different color and added some decorative trim. It came out pretty good and I received many compliments on the outcome. Thank you for the plans. It was exactly what I was looking for. I have pictures to show you but I don't know where to post them. what I noticed was that the plans called for the middle cabinet side and top to be 16" wide but when you cut 16" off one sheet of plywood, I come up short on the last one. 16"x3=48". the plans do not account for the cut of the saw blade. It is more prevalent when you cut the side cabinets, side panels. 12"x 4=48" I did notice it and made adjustments.I just thought I would point that out because I downloaded the queen size bed plans and noticed the same thing. I appreciate all your hard work, positive attitude and energy you put into making your projects and videos. Much respect, Baldomero Moreno

I'm a cabinetmaker by trade and Shara knows her stuff ! She's really good at her craft. Good stuff ! Nice job on the finished product.Watching you do this do this project gave me a flashback,when I was first learning the craft of cabinet making in college.Our class made something similar for a client out in the community( non -profit organization).It was one of our first big projects, building something like this.I remember everybody was feeling really good when the client was happy with our finished product,giving us positive feedback,saying there would be more work coming our way and they would be telling others how well we did. It was a good day !👍👍👍👍

It's fine to use blocking to get hinges and guides to work. I fill the entire area or use strips instead of using small separate blocks though. I don't care much for painting, but spraying is a lot nicer than brushing or rolling once you get the hang of it and an area to do it in.
@WoodshopDiaries
@WoodshopDiaries 4 жыл бұрын
nevermindthebollocks I need a spot large enough to be able to spray. My husbands tractor is always in my shop and he’d not be happy if I got paint all over it 😅 but using a large strip instead of the blocks would definitely have been cleaner haha. I’ll keep that in mind for my next build! Thank you!
