Ya know. I saw a tiny house building show years ago, and their solution to the stairs was pretty creative. They made a metal staircase and hinged the top. They then used a small electric winch to run the stairs up and down so they weren't in the way when not in use. You could accomplish the same thing with a chain hoist. Just another option. Love the content!

It's literally a life-sized Lincoln Log set done with insanely good craftsmanship. And for less than half or 1/3rd the price of any home you can find on the current market. What an absolutely amazing company.

Easy to build a cabin quickly when there was 100’s or 1000’s of hours behind the scenes making it. This is little more than a child’s large Lincoln Log build.

This is awesome how they are making pretty much a SIP panel on site! My Mom's house here in NC has a 24" SIP panel roof similar to the Brady Bunch house. Between that and 2x6 and 2x8 exterior walls, this house's envelope is pretty nice for something built in 1978 but with additions, has grown to 10,500 +/- SQFT! Compare it to my 1948 mill type house, my electric bill is still more than her's and she has an inground pool and hot tub running 24/7! you are going to love that roof system and how insulated this cabin will be for and your family!

Maybe run the stairs sideways along the living area wall, that way you have more headspace and don't need to cut out the floor. It would also save the floorspace downstairs, just make some nice shelving or storage under the stairs
@wranglerstar

It's upstairs where the headspace is an issue. can't walk up and have it be 3 feet....We've moved the ladder to many spaces to see it visually.

When the bath/bed walls go up, I think that size is going to get more than cozy. When you put the woodburner in, I'm thinking your going to have a hot main room, and a cool/cold bath/bed. I experienced this in my home. Without the air moving, you end up with a superheated space and the rest cool/cold.

In the South East spray foam can be a mess with termites. Often a roof gets damaged and water gets trapped so a giant source of moisture for termites.

Maybe an Attic ladder might be a solution, so you can tuck it away when not in use, unless the top floor is going to be used all the time, then spiral might be better

Nice quality, but I think they could have a better way of attaching the railing posts. Like a half lap that gets bolted into the porch rim joist.
@LivingOnWheels
@LivingOnWheels 8 күн бұрын
It looks to me that a nice big lag bolt epoxied into the bottom of each railing post would allow you to easily fasten them down through the decking with a heavy duty washer on the underside. Completely hidden from view. Could put one or two smaller screws adjacent to keep the post from being able to rotate on the center lag. Definitely more than one way to skin a cat though.

9:15 _All right! Let me cut the cords holding this pile here without knowing what's under the tarp! Heck, hold on, let me go barefoot, even! You see, kids, the closer your feet are to the ground the more in contact with the Earth you are-and I am about to be a heck of a lot more in contact with the Earth in just a moment... especially when I'm writhing in pain rolling on the ground right after this shot._ 👌

Hey may answer you but I'll let you know from what I can tell he's not keen on the idea due to the current conditions and leadership of fools on deck. I'm with him on this one..... for a good cause one might do something heroic, but this is a fools game and not a good one..... not worth the adventure or bloody body count. They have a draft coming for our children soon. Patriotic yes, foolish not for the fools game.

They did about an hour Livestream recently with the main guy and Mrs. W where they laid out all the details..go watch it. You'll enjoy
