How to Build a Luxury Yacht Marina in Cities Skylines! | Auridon

Today Auridon finally gets it's Marina! This episode concentrates on how to build a yacht marina and luxury condo waterside development using vanilla building assets with props from the workshop. We create a large harbor wall using walkable quays, completely transform the fountain of life and death to give it a whole new look and feel, add in high density residential in a way that makes it look good, and focus on how to detail the marina harbor area.
Welcome to Auridon! This is a 'lightly’ modded Cities Skylines gameplay series, although I do use a ton of mods the series will use mostly Vanilla (+DLC) game assets with only a handful of extras from the workshop. The focus of this build is on making a detailed city, with functional mass transit, including all DLC and content creator packs. 2022 ready! The series is based on game play mixed in with detailing timelapse's.

The hidden campsite is absolutely brilliant 👏 love it! The marina is fabulous, great use of props and the double quey walls look really nice stepping down. Personally I really, really appreciate that you put in public parking. I've seen many creators rely solely on roadside parking and then have to retrofit public garages.

A nice way to wake up in a Saturday morning. Seeing another Few Candy video. The marina does give me a local vibe. (I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida) Although we have a different weather zone. Definitely a ritzy area that's for sure. I love lighthouses.

No ferries in the marinas! Commercial traffic and leisure one tend to be separated, if possible (as is in Auridon) ;)

Apparently you can assign some different boats to be used as ferries - sail boat, windsurfer, etc - and then they could be used :) I'd like to see that done somewhere if possible.

I like the that the light house is weathered, especially around the country club/yacht area... almost like it's a landmark, as if that was the original lighthouse at the first port when the city was founded.

As someone whose native language is not English and doesn't use the term, I always feel so weird to see my real name being used for a harbour. I have to say I love the contrast between your real time building and sped up sections. Realtime gives a nice relaxed zen feel and the sped up section are happy time music that make me smile. :D

Really enjoying watching this series, and it's coming along nicely. Congrats! As for where the two quays meet in the harbor, how about putting a small commercial building there to simulate a souvenir shop/boating supply/bar/etc. instead of just the rocks? May also draw visitors.

I love the lighthouse! Even if it is a bit scruffy it tells a story of how it was there originally but the marina was modernised later. You should keep it :) For a district name in the new area, maybe "Millair" to counter "Billair". Millionairs vs billionairs neighbours lol

FewCandy I don't know if you ever played The SimCity series but there was always a Mayor house after a set number of population. You should plop you down a fancy house so you can better run the city, maybe you can make "Mayor Island". :) love the series. Found you through the great Biffa.

Great harbour/yacht club build Love the lighthouse, I think that it looks better being scruffy. Just need a few rocks round the bottom. Love the tram along the double Quay, reminds me of seaside towns.

If you have quay anarchy, you can use the road upgrade button and it flips the quays for you

Nice video, just one thing : when you want to turn props, I directly use alt + right click. It moves it by 30 degree angle, might get you the right angle faster!

Hello from the future! Your builds are amazing every time! The Marina is outstanding. Now that you have the Auridon flag to use, it would make an excelent addition to the Carina Marina. There's always lots of flags flying in marinas, so rows of Auridon flags along the water's edge would look really good.

Hey FewCandy. All the time watching your wonderful work on the marina I kept thinking there needed to be a lighthouse at the end of the quay. But maybe you should add a ferry stopp over at that island. It should boost your sims using the ferry network quite a bit up.

Since you are providing the ability for the people to park their yacht on the sides of the quay by the country club, shouldn’t there be a path or a way for them to access the country club from the quay? I love your building style! Can’t wait to see more!

While I'm no officianardo on the subject, clea'ly, it seems like most of the boats I've seen have their access 🅱️oints on the side..depends on the boat obv, but it does make me wonder how they're commonly laid out since I've never really paid that much attention..🤔 (I'm poor, why would I care about boats 🤷🏿‍♀️). Also, I'm quite fond of the yellow with a slight orange tint to it, I'm sure you can imagine why ;p

Brightness: 0.95, Gamma: 0.95, Contrast 0.95, Temperature -0.2, Tint 0.2, Sun Temp 0.2, Sun tint 0.2, Sky temp -0.2, Sky tint 0.2, Moon temp -0.2, moon tint 0.2, moon light 0.2, twilight tint 0.2. Hope that helps. I also have global light intensity at 5.357 and ambient light intensity at 0.846 in ultimate eye candy...
