When I look at the numbers on a small scale, the cheapest thing to do is get a used Desktop that has at least 3 PCI expansion slots. You can find these for $100 - 200. Then that covers your hard drive, MOBO, operating system, monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Then you just swap out the battery with a 600 watt one, buy 3 1050 GeForces, and a set of risers and you're pretty much there. The only last hassle is getting the computer to recognize the cards and configuring your mining .bat files and setting up a wallet and all that. You are not going to make a lot of money, but you can make about $60-90 per month, so the system will pay for itself in about a year. The good thing about a small rig is that it is totally quiet and uses minimal power, maybe $1 a day or so. Also, depending on where you live, it almost doubles as a room heater! I am mostly mining ZCash and PIRL right now. Once the system is set, you can basically forget about it. The three 1050s generate 2-3 dollars per day. But since it is all going into crypto, I see it as a long-term investment.

Awesome feedback mate! The other thing you might not be aware of is that you can trade your earnings to generate more cash and you also take into account that those earning could go up or down in price! :)

Mate Brilliant! I have been looking for this exact video since early 2020, instead I learnt mining by 100's of videos of other builds. Still very useful content from Vosk and RPM. All I wanted was step by stepo build, I searched high and low for months, but here we are June 2022, better late than never, even more excited your in OZ. Nice tidy job, was worth the wait, I'm buying a Dell as a "Transistory" office machine, then this I will do. Lotta talkin but I get excited sometimes out here in rural QLD, cpl hours from Toowoomba, plenty acres, time for Solar Man Mining Shed :)

I recommend getting used GPU's if you are just getting into mining, unless you have money to spend (I don't cause I'm a student). I got a used HD7990 for around 280 $ that has 1000k avg H/s (CryptoNight). Also a used 290x for 130 $ that has 500 avg H/s. I do however recommend to not cheap out on a PSU and buy a new one to keep your rig running smoothly.

This is a really interesting video ! Thanks for sharing it! Since I am a newbie computer-tear apart ambitious miner myself, I would like to ask you for some help or advices. That 65W power consumption its impressive , and to be honest with you I would love to be able to achieve a similar result. I have a mining set up with one GPU Sapphire rx 570 4gb (Elpida memory), Bios modded and under-clocked; thats what I got so far using Claymore: Etash at 28.5 HMS drawing 150w from the wall (85w only from the gpu) Equitash at 250 HMS drawing 130w from the wall ( 75w only from the gpu) Cryptonight at 700 HMS drawing 100w from the wall (50w only from the gpu) In the video it seem you are mining some cryptonight at 600(ish)MHS ; at only 65w ! Is that really achievable? Would you mind sharing some more information like the SSD/HDD and cpu model and power consumption ? I would be great to have an hint on how the pc performs on Idle mode and perhaps to see how the gpu is doing on wattage itself while mining ! that would help me and I am sure lots people save some energy bill ( and in Belgium its not cheap :/ ) ! Cheers for your time and merry Christmas!

What miner software do you use, and you are saying celeron gpu but it says "pentium", so was it a celeron or a pentium? Nice video btw keep it up. :)
@123myIT7 жыл бұрын
I thought it was celeron cause of the blue sticker but someone pointed out i was wrong lol. Anyway the hardware is not the point of the video its more about the idea. :)

I have just about the same comp. except its a vista, I am going to do the same thing you got there its just the harddrive that I would like to know about. what size is the one you had there and is my 320gb to big for what I need. Awsome build also.

Nah should be fine.

Do i also need powerful processor and motherboard to build this rig ? or only good graphics card will be fine and a normal CPU ?
@123myIT7 жыл бұрын
Fine with normal cup. the powerful part needs to be the graphics card.

Hi can i make a mining rig using a a68hm mobo and an amd a6 7400k and im gonna use a 1 rx 570 4gb and what psu should i get the 650 watts or 450? And is 4gb ddr4ram enough in this build?
@jjaze98315 жыл бұрын
Or should i just buy a amd athlob 200g and an a320m mobo for more upgradability? Please help!
@123myIT5 жыл бұрын
@@jjaze9831 I allow about 150 watts per 570 and about 100 watts for cpu mobo.

Hello From Canada! just wondering how many GPU's can you stick on that with that 750w Power supply. Great video btw got the same board for 30 bucks with the cpu. Or I am asking whats the lowest power Supply that could handle the 3 Gpu's Motherboard and ssd?
@123myIT6 жыл бұрын
Hmm I would always go higher power supply if you can mate. You might get 3 to 4 gpus on a 750w psu. Depends on clocking etc.
@gameover0336 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the quick resonse. was looking at a 850w. I saw that the gpu's you were using were 195w a pice so 3 would be 585w, Pluse what ever the MB and CPU were drawing thanks tho ill probly go with the 850 then.
@123myIT6 жыл бұрын
Nah I added a 750 PSU and swapped the 250 out.

Hi 123, great vid. watched it twice already xD But could you tell exactly why you changed the HDD ? you said it's bigger, does it use more power if its a bigger size? or more watt when it has more storage?
@123myIT7 жыл бұрын
yeh bigger the drive it more power it will use. so use small one if you can or use ssd.
@PICO_BE7 жыл бұрын
SO bigger in size or bigger in storage? (SSD is obviously the best pick, but more expensive)
@123myIT7 жыл бұрын
size i think.

Heyy, maybe a stupid beginner question. But if you take for example a really slow computer en build a very good GPU on top. Are there any losses you get because of some slow/old in de computer so that you dont take full advantage of the gpu?.
@123myIT3 жыл бұрын
Not really because the GPU is doing the hard processing.
