Love the box in a box feel to this. Gives the piece a robust feel but lets you still make a relatively simple plywood dresser which I am always 100% game for :) The dark/light contrast is also awesome!

You're a brave soldier cutting those mortises with the router braced on only one side. I will never forget all the prep then pushing the router in the wrong direction sending it chewing off in the open direction. I built an adjustable jig that gauges the mortice width using the vertical piece. With fa lush bearing bit and braced on each side its hard to mess up. I like the tenon idea; I'll give it a try...and teach an old dog a new trick. Congrats on the new family member!!!!

That is really nice !!! The only thing I would have done different is gone with some sort of clear acrylic to make "invisible" legs so it would look like it is floating and you would have had extra walnut left to make something else!! !
