Thanks for your comment here. This is a great antenna for its size. I am not sure if it would be adaptable for multi band, maybe worth looking into the possibility of making a hex-beam for that. Certainly for my own use this is perfect and literally that easy to construct. Go for it, have fun. Cheers

I’m currently trying to design a drive on plate for myself, I love how you can just slot the bottom of the pole down into the base. I’m thinking I want mine to do it, leaving the rubber bottom on so the poles won’t slide out while setting it up. I’m also thinking the rubber might act like a bit of a cushion if any of the poles come loose and fall down.

Yeah, I came across that by accident, coinciding sizes, and it works really well. There's no problem with sections dropping through. Just put it on its side to separate it. when it is up I have it so it is no longer possible for the sections to fall. Learnt my lesson after my wee accident (on Video) The plug keeps it rattle-proof in the boot. Cheers

OMG it's my twin brother. same equipment same ex pat situation about 100km away, similar hair and beard. mad! get in touch brother! lol I have a Spiderbeam pole like this, i had a similar idea for a base but with a longer metal plate you can drive the tyre onto. I was planning on taking it up to Avoriaz. But it's really a project for my big tree extendable mast. top secret. lol but in all honesty i have a new idea, much better than any mast out there, very different, never seen it done before. reply here then we can get in contact for more info, some dx etc. I had 2x avanti sigma IV and many other antenna. Contacted Brazil Sao Paulo last night on 100W and a mag mount on a tin chalet roof! result! Ps. look up tuning moxon by adding a wire hanging down in one corner of the driven and one corner of the reflector!

Thanks. To be honest I can't remember and my notes are long gone. The 140deg/40deg is important and with the wire dimensions pretty much determines pole lengths off the cross-bars. I may have mentioned this sizing in one of my earlier Moxon Videos. Sorry I can't be more helpful at this point. 73's Cheers

Hi Max how do you set the swr up on it or at the lenght's the wire is just right .. might have a go at one of these for the garden
@MaxMountainWorld
@MaxMountainWorld 2 жыл бұрын
Provisionally set up and the wire installed too long then clipped back to perfect swr before fabricating/soldering the wire-end loops. A long process to raise the antenna each time but well worth the effort. Go on. it is easy and let me know any more Q's etc as well as how you get on with it. Cheers
